She follows in a long tradition of freak shows. They were called ‘freaks’ because they were miles away from the accepted norms.

And the general public will pay plenty of money to see freak shows. The good thing about her, at least, is that she is managing her own show and not being exploited by others.

We have come to a strange stage in society where sexual morality, which existed for a number of practical reasons (health, unwanted pregnancy etc), has ceased to exist for many, due to a combination of the death of religion and medical advances. This has coincided with the democratisation of entertainment via the internet, which has resulted in an abundance of weird and unpleasant online porn.

@Newbutoldfather I wouldn’t call her a freak. I don’t think that anyone who chooses to engage in such behaviour is psychologically sound, she seems dissociated and vulnerable to me. Her own parents seem complicit in the whole thing. I think it’s deeply exploitative, under the veneer of pseudo empowering pretend feminism.

I think whether you want to think of her as a ‘freak’ is definitional. She is certainly an outlier in her behaviour. Vanishingly few people will do that kind of thing. And, it is like the ‘freak’ shows of the Victorian era (‘roll up, roll up, come and see a normal looking woman…..) but taking place on the internet rather than a circus tent.

I think once you start calling it psychologically unsound and exploitative, you open up a Pandora’s box, What about a uni student who sleeps with 100 guys in a year? What about more minor forms of exhibitionism? Where does free will and empowerment become patriarchal exploitation and evidence of a psychological problem?

Most people think the line is clear, but they all draw it in different places!

I just saw this story in the news this morning. Unbelievable! I'm not a prude but as the mother of two older teenaged boys I find it sickening and don't like the idea that she is peddling herself as a casual utility to young people like them.

I think maybe we need to look at the societal causes of young women behaving in this way. In my view, these women are victims, vulnerable and impressionable and looking for attention. Like those who are groomed, or fall into drugs or abusive relationships.

I was an attention seeking teen in one iteration. Thank god smart phones and social media wasn’t around then.
