I'll go first...

Hat and glove set (haven't worn a hat or scarf since I was 10)🤣

Body lotion! Who actually bothers to apply that stuff😬

I got a manicure set. Seems pointless as I will never ever use it

Another one I hate! How many manicure sets does one person need😵‍💫

I've got a dirty necklace that the giver demanded I wear, they did give me an equally used and dirty box to put it in though.

ChocHotolate · 25/12/2024 20:14

My mum bought me over the counter herbal sleep tablets. Really not too sure what to make of that one

PassingStranger · 25/12/2024 20:16

Stop buying presents then. When you need to start a thread complaining you should realise there is absolutely no point.
Tell people next year to drop the present buying.

A cliff richard autobiography and a copy of the New Testament

NunyaBeeswax · 25/12/2024 20:20

I'll be hoovering up unwanted tat...
Manicure kit and hat and gloves set sound alright to me. 🤪

Lovemusic82 · 25/12/2024 20:22

I would be happy with a hat and gloves, it’s going to get cold next week 😉

Grey Cushion Covers

My current ones are a) colourful b) not worn out

I have little chance of charity shopping them because of who bought them!

See, I love shower gels because they will actually get used unlike the bottles of body lotion etc!

Candles are my pet hate. Never use them.

A china gonk cookie jar, with no cookies in it

PoorUncleBarry · 25/12/2024 20:38

Am I the only person who loves toiletries at Christmas time? Shower gel/soap - I shower every day, they go in no time. Lotions and butters - I am diabetic and have dry skin so I use an absolute tonne of the stuff.

User79853257976 · 25/12/2024 20:41

I apply body lotion after every shower. Can’t get dressed without it as I feel all shrivelled.

MildredTheOctopus · 25/12/2024 20:44

For me, it'd be the three bottles of alcohol, one from each member of my family. I'm an alcoholic, I've been in recovery for nearly two years and they're all very aware of it. Not a pointless gift for someone else, but a pretty bad one to receive personally.

I don't mind body lotion though, but I know I'm in the minority there! Anything that smells nice is always a winner with me.

DailyCake · 25/12/2024 20:46

I use body lotion every day, sometimes twice a day when I go to the gym.

That's a really shitty thing to do to a recovering addict. Sorry your family did that to you

That's not just pointless, that's downright nasty. Well done on your recovery (despite the arseholes in your family).

You can't get much worse than this. This is unbelievably stupid and inconsiderate!

Gosh how upsetting @MildredTheOctopus and how offensive. Poor you.

Bath bombs.

Not only would it give me thrush if I actually used them, but they know I don't have a bath.
