What are you baking/cooking today?

For the first time in a long time I don't have to make a last minute dash to the shops for a forgotten item so have the whole day to bake and cook. What goodies are you rustling up today? I thought I might make some Christmas muffins, some little tarts, some vol au vents for the buffet later. Anyone cooking something lovely I can shamelessly copy?

I’m making mince pies and sausage rolls.

Just mince pies. I've decided to go easy on myself this year! It goes against the grain as I'm very much a cook from scratch person but I've got enough to do for tomorrow's lunch. Today's buffet (we are having visitors) is mainly shop bought!

I did mince pies and festive shortbread yesterday so it's tomorrow's dessert being made today.

We are away this year and for the first time in years my DD has asked if we can bake, she’s 17 and it made my year. So we are making choc chip muffins :)

Christmas dinner and a trifle!
No baking, but we made cookies yesterday.

Mince pies, cinnamon rolls, Christmas biscuits, loaf of bread and making the bread sauce for tomorrow.

These all sound gorgeous! I'm hopeless at minced pies (I don't really like them and cant seem to get the filling right) so I have bought a load instead.
Festive shortbread sounds lovely!

Chocolate fridge cake- a Christmas tradition in my family, hummus for the buffet this evening and I’ll be arranging a pigs in blankets pinwheel!

Not a great Baker but think will try some shortbread. Going to make my yorkshire puds for tomorrow too.

Nothing. I haven't baked since school, 45 years ago!

Cheese scones, going to visit my poorly dad today and I know he likes them.

Puff pastry and nut meat filling for the nut roast and gravy. I might par boil the potatoes.

Trifle and bread sauce. DH will be doing sausage rolls.

Only baking mince pies, but also making a mushroom and a mackerel pate. One dairy free, one full of dairy!

Cooking the Christmas ham this afternoon and I'll probably peel and par boil the potatoes to give me a bit of a head start tomorrow!

I did mince pies yesterday and I’ve got to do garlic and Stilton mushrooms for tomorrows lunch and make jelly for the Boxing Day trifle (I don’t have space to make the trifle until after lunch tomorrow!) DH wants to par boil the potatoes and peel veg this afternoon.

I made a lemon drizzle cake earlier. It’s the first one I have done so I hope it tastes ok.

I'm baking croissants today, as for some bloody reason the Co-Op have decided to not bake anything fresh today ! 😡
