Finished the food shop this morning, work finished, friends meet ups done. Took Dd for Christmas treat at cafe today, now cuddled up watching a kids film, maybe dog walk on the beach later.
Tomorrow..dog walk, making mince pies & gingerbread, xmas eve movies & dinner

What are your plans for today & tomorrow? Wondering if we should be doing more??

OP posts:
TippledPink · 23/12/2024 14:02

Why should you do more? You do what you want not what others do! I am unwell today which is fab just before hosting Christmas day and boxing day so having a bath then doing the food shop a bit later. Need to do some cleaning. Tomorrow I am working until 5 then cooking a lasagne when my parents arrive and going to the local pub for a drink. I have teenagers and two are working today and tomorrow, 14 year old just chilling in her room as usual!

ShortColdandGrey · 23/12/2024 14:04

Working and hoping to get everything finished in time for Wednesday.

TwinkleLights24 · 23/12/2024 14:04

Finishing the food shop today and cleaning.
Tomorrow will be relaxing with my daughter and eating nice food, watching films etc.

Coasterfan · 23/12/2024 14:05

We are at Legoland today and Warwick castle tomorrow 😀 I have to go and collect our preordered Christmas dinner from M and S first thing tomorrow and got a couple of bits to wrap when we get home tomorrow but everything else is done. We just have a quiet one though, no hosting involved!

hby9628 · 23/12/2024 14:09

Working today although I've done all I can so online mooching. Time for a brew soon I think
Tomorrow at home with the kids & DH. Relaxing & watching a film hopefully.

RedPony1 · 23/12/2024 14:10

Working - normal day in the office for us here today & tomorrow 😊

TeenLifeMum · 23/12/2024 14:13

Working today (from home… clearly working very hard as you can see).

Tomorrow I’m taking dc to see Moana 2. Not very Christmassy but we wanted to see it.

MissyB1 · 23/12/2024 14:14

Ds birthday today, we had a cooked breakfast with family members who came over, he opened his presents. Now he's gone ice skating with his mates (he's 16), we are taking him out for dinner tonight.

Tomorrow I'm prepping food for Christmas day, going to a church service in the afternoon, then my two adult DC will arrive to stay.

Badknitter · 23/12/2024 14:15

Working both days.

BigDahliaFan · 23/12/2024 14:16

Working today - going to shop for Christmas lunch tomorrow morning early then dog walk with friends in the afternoon (long standing tradition) with a pint at the end. Then round to DH's ex for dinner (long standing tradition) and we might stop off in the pub on the way home if it's looking twinkly and not lairy.

Tomorrow morning just me and Dh in the morning so we'll walk the dog, I want to put some more decorations up. We'll prep and cook in the afternoon then eat early evening with family -8-10 people as still not quite firmed that up with various hangers on.

They'll leave about 9 - got one staying over so we'll all lie on the sofa ... covered in dogs.

DancefloorAcrobatics · 23/12/2024 14:18

Working, Christmas movies with the DC after dinner today...
Tomorrow it's working and then to SIL for a Christmas tea...

(Hubby is sorting out Christmas day this year! So probably going food shopping tomorrow afternoon because he forgot the potatoes or Brussels or whatever he can't be without.)

CreationNat1on · 23/12/2024 14:19

Lying on my couch, hung over and "working". Was busy this morning, not so much now. Just had hot choc, hopefully give me the energy boost I need.

Must tidy and food shop, need a shower.

CharlotteStreetW1 · 23/12/2024 14:21

Not hosting this year so not too frantic. I finished work on Friday until 6th Jan, DH finishes today. No DC.

Have done housework and changed the bed. Am in the throes of laundry at the moment.

About to make a cuppa and do my nails before meeting DH and his colleagues for a quick drink in the pub at 5pm.

Tomorrow I've got a hair appointment at lunchtime, then I'll head to Waitrose to pick up grazing food for us on Boxing Day (if there's anything left!). Meeting BIL and SIL for early drinks then a quiet evening in watching Gone Fishing.

DH has had a massively stressful year so I think he just wants a bit of R&R. We are away for New Year which will be more energetic and celebratory I think. It's still going to be nice though.

AdviceAdvice123 · 23/12/2024 14:23

You “should” be doing whatever works for your family! Don’t feel pushed in to something that’s not right for you.

Today, we are doing almost nothing. Watching some Christmas movies, getting a takeout for tea. Tomorrow we will do more of the same, but add a bike ride or something. That’s about it! My kids are exhausted from a long term and all the Christmas lead up excitement

SJM1988 · 23/12/2024 14:23

Working! I did the food shop at 5am today! Then when I get home I'll make the choc log and sort out Christmas eve boxes
Tomorrow I'll prep all the Christmas day food when I finish work.
My DH is off with the children - they collected the Christmas meat today (and had breakfast at the café farm shop), park this afternoon. Tomorrow they are doing cinema and soft play. I should be home by lunch tomorrow so we can do a fun movie or something before my prep starts!

Peridot1 · 23/12/2024 14:24

Did the last of the food shop this morning with DH.

Rest of today is bits and pieces of cleaning and little jobs like putting a picture up which has been on DH’s list for a month. We also had a plumber in to fix the waste plugs on two sinks so I had to clear out drawers and now I need to put it all back. I need to finish cleaning the kitchen and wash the floors.

Tomorrow I need to change a book I bought for DH as DS got him the same one. Then I need to wrap presents. I haven’t wrapped one yet. It’s only for DH and DS though so not too bad.

ItGhoul · 23/12/2024 14:25

Is this a stealth boast about your cosy, organised Christmas or what? 😁Why would you be wondering if you 'should be doing more'? Sounds like you're having a lovely time.

Both today and Christmas Eve are working days for most people so plenty are going to be at work. I'm at work today, then this evening I've got to do some food prep. Tomorrow morning I'm at work until lunchtime and then packing up an entire Christmas food shop into the car to take to my mum's four hours away (I'm cooking on Christmas Day, but at her house - long story).

It's not ideal to be honest, and I would rather be watching a film and going for beach walks and making mince pies like you. But we don't have kids so we've got some of our favourite podcasts and Christmas comedy shows lined up to listen to in the car, plus DP quite likes driving and I'm a good passenger so hopefully the journey should be quite cosy even if there are delays. Definitely looking forward to cracking open a bottle of something tomorrow evening once we've arrived!

I definitely shouldn't complain though because DP and I do have some time off between Christmas and New Year and are looking forward to a few nice days of relaxing and a couple of nights in a hotel on the coast for the two of us. I'm much more excited about that than Christmas itself really.

Pascha · 23/12/2024 14:27

Food shop came this morning. We had a houseful of boys earlier due to an impromptu sleepover last night. They've all gone so I'm just folding washing and cleaned the kitchen as normal.

DH is bringing pizza home after work tonight. He's not expecting to work tomorrow but as a plumber there's always the chance of an emergency call so we'll stay close to home tomorrow and just carry on as normal.

hummingbird12 · 23/12/2024 14:28

Sounds lovely op!

I'm working until 3. Dc with dh. They've been to the library and crafting downstairs now while wfh.
Going to see elf the musical tonight. A gift from grandparents.
Tomorrow will be a big breakfast, lovely dog walk in the woods not far from us then home to make biscuits for Santa and a movie with dinner

MumChp · 23/12/2024 14:28

Lot of cooking and cleaning the house today.
Packing for Christmas days away.
Putting lots of groceries away (online shopping).
Writing a few cards.

Now?
I am drinking mulled wine with almonds and raisins. Next rice pudding for tea (Scandinavian tradition for 23rd December).

Tomorrow?
Christingle Service and travelling to grandparents.

Llttledrummergirl · 23/12/2024 14:28

Working, and working.

Dh did the food shop this morning (such a hardship that I had to miss it Grin) and tomorrow he is cooking and baking and preparing the veg.I so wish I could be not working to help with the prep Xmas Grin

hby9628 · 23/12/2024 14:29

Just found out I'm getting an early finish.
Yay! Merry Christmas all

Sunnnybunny72 · 23/12/2024 14:31

Last bit of shopping today. Tv, snacks, darts.
Working tomorrow - general practice. My clinic is rammed already without the add ons and walk ins. Dreading it.

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 23/12/2024 14:33

Working and working.....albeit it's not very busy so it doesn't feel like working.

Hoping for an early finish tomorrow, can then drag the kids out for a walk.

leftorrightnow · 23/12/2024 14:33

working today!
tomorrow will be wrapping all the gifts, cooking and cleaning and trying to go for a run!
