Out of date Baileys

Just found a bottle of Baileys best before October 2024 - is it safe to drink?!

It's dairy based I wouldn't chance it

No I wouldn't. It's mainly dairy and could have curdled/gone off

It's only a few months and the alcohol will probably keep it safe for years. If it smells OK, I'd definitely go for it...

It does go off, but once opened. So if it's still sealed you might be OK.

As long as it was unopened it’s probably fine

Try a teaspoon of it after sniffing the bottle and ensuring it smells OK.
If you've not died/developed D and V within 24 hours, it's OK.
Alternatively, just sniff it and take a chance.

Growing up we had a thimble of Baileys on NYE, and the same bottle lasted years.

I've recently finished the bottle I opened last Christmas.

I'd certainly try it, especially if not opened. Best Before, not Use By.

I found a bottle that was several years out of date. Still sealed. It was fine.

Probably fine. It will curdle if it's off, so you'll know. But it does go off once opened because of the dairy.

Baileys has a use by date??

I don't think I have ever checked alcohol - I would think it would be visible/smellable if there was an issue.

Why ask the question before opening and tasting it? You will know. But it is barely over the BB date and those dates are VERY generous IME.

I had out of date baileys once and it tasted foul so you'll know as soon as you taste it.

Out of date Baileys is a concept I am unfamiliar with! I think a month out of date is going to be fine, but you may have to drink it quickly!

I had a Baileys last night whilst decorating the tree from a bottle we opened last year and it was fine! Got my partner to have a sniff and a taste first but I'm here today so tell the tale and feel no different. If it was off you'd be able to tell immediately is my general take on things.
