Scott Mill taking over breakfast show!

Just heard that Zoe Ball is stepping down and Scott Mills is taking over the breakfast show. He did a really good job when Zoe was off recently. Wish them both all the best for their new futures.

So Radio 2 is just becoming Radio 1 of twenty years ago. Might as well get Chris Moyles in there too while you’re at it

This is what I'm hoping too, I quite liked Zoe but was forever switching over because of Richie so ended up giving up!
There wasn't good chemistry between Richie and Scott previously so will live in hope 🙏

Was only listening to R2 this morning as Gary Davis is on for a few days.
Fewer and fewer R2 presenters that I have any time for now, in fact it is often the stand-ins that are better (G.Davis, N.Chapman etc).
Richie Anderson.😖 Where did they dig him up and why is he given so much air (and screen) time as he is completely without skill or charisma?

Turned over to Greatest Hits Radio for the first time ever and was pleased to hear the delightful tones of Ken Bruce.
Think this is my goto radio station from now on.

I've not heard Scott having good chemistry with anyone - he's not good at rapport, doesn't listen to people. When he stood in for Zoe, he never followed up on anything callers said, and pretty much blanked Richie. I'll be looking for a new station, I really can't face waking up to him in the morning. I find Zoe much more natural with people, I'm sorry she's going.

Can't stand Scott he makes me cringe with all his lovey dovey stuff, and he's so bloody boring. Surely there's someone better???

Chris Moyles is on Radio X @Romeiswheretheheartis if you liked him back in the day (I love him, he's fab!)

I find Scott Mills rather dull and boring. He talks in a monotone and sounds bored.

I find Scott Mills boring. Not much personality shining through on his programme. He was a dreary replacement for the afternoon slot (what is the point of the birthday game??) so I can't understand why they chose him to replace Zoe.

I hope they ditch the birthday game.

The birthday game roulette wheel noise puts my teeth on edge. It's an annoying feature

Scott Mills was absolutely brilliant on radio 1. One of the only DJ to make me properly LOL. He didn't transition well (first me) to R2 but hopefully his personality will come out in the breakfast show. I wish R2 music wasn't so bad or I might listen!

I agree @boygirlcatdog - they've updated the DJs but kept the music the same. Need to move the music to the 90s & it would be fab!

I miss Scott mills and chris stark they were so good and really funny. Was gutted to find out Chris was leaving and Scott was moving it's just not the same.

I don’t like any of the stand ins. OJ Borg is dull as is Nicki Chapman, although neither are as bad as Anita Rani. Shes so dull, no conversation and just asks for people to tell her what they’re up to.

What will happen to the birthday game? Will it stay in the afternoon slot with Trevor or move to the morning?

Good luck to Scott, I knew him as a teenager and he's lovely. I'm pleased to see him doing well and looking forward to listening :)

Scott did play 90s music a bit more than most DJs. Zoe was playing rave music the other morning ! It'll eventually move on as the demographics change I suppose and radio 2 becomes the new radio one

Woo hoo - I'll be able to listen to Vernon, turn off at 12 (can't stand Jeremy Vine) and then turn back on at 2 so I can listen right through the afternoon! Used to have the radio off from 12 until 4 as I can't stand Scott Mills - so self absorbed (bored hearing about his wedding ad nauseum months after the event and his 24 hour challenge 3 years ago which was nothing compared to what both Vernon and Paddy did for CIN).

Really glad Trevor has got the old Steve Wright slot.
Underwhelmed by Scott and didn't like the overexcited puppyness of Zoe, but wish her well.

As for Ritchie Anderson, I cannot compute his rise and rise. Unless he is the secret lovechild of a BBC bigwig.
You could hear the irritation in Ken Bruce's voice when he had to tolerate his twitterings before he left.

Love Lisa Tarbuck, but i don't think she'd be up for any other slot.

Why is Zoe leaving? I haven’t listened since I first tried when she took over- I find her impossible to listen to and without being too rude she never seems that sharp.

No fan of Scott mills but worst than all of them is Vernon. Ugh.

Do love Sara Cox but much preferred her on sound of the 80s. She was hilarious on that show.
