Scott Mill taking over breakfast show!

Just heard that Zoe Ball is stepping down and Scott Mills is taking over the breakfast show. He did a really good job when Zoe was off recently. Wish them both all the best for their new futures.

Unlike a lot of people on here I really like Scott Mills and I bloody love Trevor Nelson who is going to take over Scott’s show. Cant wait.

I like him. Always have. Never understood the I hate Scott mills gang on here. He is good at breakfast and I wish him well.

I like him too! I thought he was great when he covered the breakfast show recently, chuffed it will be permanent.

I'm happy about this too. I also think Scott suits the breakfast slot better too. Can't say I'll miss Zoe if I'm honest.

I love Zoe, don't mind Scott. But I don't mind who is presenting as long as they keep the quiz on Thursday!

i rarely listen but do like zoe Ball at breakfast

Listening to Ball made me want to crash my car into the nearest lampost, I couldn't switch the radio quick enough and Mills, don't talk to me about Mills and his inane mutterings. Both BANG BANG AVERAGE and we are saving a fortune £££. Now give the money to keep G Linekar at all costs. A person people actually like, unless you read the Daily Fail.

Scott Mills is so boring he makes my head itch on the inside. Droney voice, inability to talk to anyone, constant references to his age, etc. And that feature in the afternoons? Talking to (equally tedious) Fearne Cotton about her teenage letters? Are they aiming at the 'nice afternoon nap' market?

Have no idea how he's got so far. I love a bit of OJ Borj, but he never seems to get the airtime.

OJ is good , he stood in for Scott a few times and has a nice voice

Thank goodness for that, it’s been the worst show on Radio 2 since she took over. Her voice and manner along with that of Sara Cox, is bloody annoying.

He must really know where the bodies are buried! Took over Saturday morning 5 live, then Steve Wright....and he's just, well dull, no real personality, never done anything else than radio dj, not even an interesting voice or different sense of humour

I’m really chuffed. I really like Zoe and Scott is a great replacement. All I want from a radio breakfast show is some interesting but unchallenging chit chat whilst I get ready for work.

Off topic but last weekend the fella who does the 1970s show on a Sunday played a song for someone’s dad who had died at age 65 and said to his daughter, “I hope he’ll enjoy it”. A bad gaffe.

Presenters need to be engaged with the listeners who call or email and that’s why I like Sara Cox. She seems interested in people. Vernon comes across in the same way. Scott seems quite remote and lacklustre tbh.

Good luck to them both. I don’t like Scott Mills’ afternoon show, but breakfast seems a better fit for him. And for me, I can’t be doing with boisterous cheerfulness first thing.

Im pleased as have always been irritated by Zoe Ball, to the point i dont listen to Radio 2 until 9.30.

I followed Chris Evans to Virgin Radio, I just don't like the music they play as much as Radio 2's playlist but you can't have it all I suppose, as Chris would say, where would you put it!

I like Scott Mills and am happy he's got the slot. I used to find him a bit abrasive in his R1 days but I think he's softened over the years. He's not hi-energy either. I can't cope with that first thing in the morning!

I can't stand Scott, I much preferred Gaby Roslin as a stand in and switched off when he was covering for Zoe.

I do hope she's OK though, she's had a tough year.

Let's hope so!! I get the impression Scott isn't keen either so 🤞🤞
