Argh!

LegoTherapy · 19/04/2025 14:10

Fixed it! I had to dismantle it right how to what would be the floorboards. Nightmare. We are about to start bag 24 and there’s 28 bags. I should be Easter baking by now but never mind!

We finished the botanical garden after dinner today. I’ve got the entrance gate to do but the set is finished. I’ve made the acer a cherry tree.

@LegoTherapy you lucky thing having the space to have that one. I shall have to stick with art & flowers

LegoTherapy · 21/04/2025 10:39

@Dearoverits on my sideboard and I’ve had to move other things to make space. My lovely mum laid the foundations with ds, I’ve done most of it in stages but Mum did the roof with ds and me, the flowers with ds and dd2, dd1 did the cafe, I did the cherry tree with Mum, and dd2 finished it off with the fountain as that’s the only bit she actually wanted to do but she’s enjoyed more, so it’s been a lovely family build. My mum is 85 and has limited dexterity in her fingers and it’s done her good to learn to build Lego and we’ve built a few things together. That roof was a bugger to do but we got there. I found the instructions and building techniques for some parts pretty rubbish. Having 3d instructions on the Lego builder app would have helped a great deal.
I remembered yesterday when asked what I’d do now it was finished that I’d got Assembly Square and Jazz Club 😁
What’s everyone building at the moment?

Dearover · 21/04/2025 17:01

I'm part way through the French Cafe, which is at home whilst I'm on holiday again.

I have Van Gogh's Sunflowers an Starry Night in my TBB pile.

Dearover · 21/04/2025 17:03

@LegoTherapy my mum (fragile 87 last month) is still raving on about the Botanical dried flowers I build for her birthday.

LegoTherapy · 21/04/2025 17:28

It’s great when we can instil the joy into others 🥰

Apparently to be released soon. Like the look of the Jellycat style plants.

This could get a dangerous crossing point between 2 collections for me

Wow! Not my bag but an interesting move in the “lego for grown ups” market.

I’ve never heard of him but they are such fun

bruffin · 25/04/2025 20:44

He was an artist that died young during the AIDS epidemic but his art has become iconic with lots of brands using his art.

hattie43 · 26/04/2025 06:22

@bruffin thankyou

TheWayTheLightFalls · 27/04/2025 18:57

Anyone heard mumblings about the Sherlock Holmes set rumoured for June? I want it to be a modular/ish but though it’s 18+ it looks much smaller / flatter. Meh. Waiting and hoping.

A book nook is usually a few inches wide I think.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 27/04/2025 19:34

Argh. Thanks this.

These obviously not Lego, but my DD loves building them to give you an alternative view of Book Nooks. DD is doing a masters and has a bookcase full of work & conflict related titles. These are tucked in to lighten the mood.
