@Somemothersdoavem I love that display on the shelves. I've got the watering can too, it's very cute.

Thanks 😀
I really enjoyed building the watering can, yellow is my favourite colour.

I'm heading into the big, dirty, ugly city for some Lego therapy. I'm still annoyed there's no cool gwp at the moment. Damn it, forgot my passport🙄

TheWayTheLightFalls · 06/03/2025 10:36

I’m eyeing up the History of STEM set. I’ve let DH know it’s mothers’ day soon 😅

LegoTherapy · 06/03/2025 12:26

🥰 the shop was almost empty and there was room to breathe except for the repugnant smell of Lush wafting in from next door with its cloying, disgusting, overpowering, panic-inducing stench. I wish they'd move to a less offensive location.

Got mini steamboat Willie on Amazon to build and the flamingo!

I've been pondering which age groups buy which Lego sets. In my completely unscientific survey of 1, I've decided that Disney & Harry Potter are 30s. Modular buildings, architecture & large art works are empty nesters with space. Botanicals and small, quick builds are in their 40s. Prove me right or wrong.

Needmorelego · 06/03/2025 17:14

@Dearover my favourite themes are Friends and City and I am almost 50.
So I might mess up your research 😁

I looked at a display set yesterday. It's quite wide and tall, so I decided it wouldn't last 5 minutes without me knocking bits off it as I'm so cack handed. I have the female scientists set, one of the early Ideas sets, and they would look lovely together. I'm trying to think.which other book set they made 2 or 3 years ago.

WhichOneIsPosher · 06/03/2025 17:50

I'm 45 with school age kids and have been buying modulars since my 30s. I love the Friends (not the 90s sitcom) sets too! Currently building the Friends community centre with DD

LegoTherapy · 06/03/2025 17:57

I'm 48 with two dc under 18 and buy flowers, vehicles, home alone, hocus pocus, friends, Modulars, Christmas and Halloween.

I’m 28 and I love Botanicals!

I'm 36 and I love the Disney ranges, all the 18+ ranges and the botanicals. Basically all the bigger sets haha

ReginaaPhalangee · 06/03/2025 18:30

Between DH and I, we have 81 sets.... oops lol

Nearing 40 and love modulars and City and the little minifig blind bags for a dopamine hit; botanical and friends are dead to me!

I’m 42, I love the botanicals, I really like the art Lego too. Empty nest currently as daughter has left home to go to university, still have dd and ds at home.

Somemothersdoavem · 06/03/2025 19:05

@Dearover I love the Christmas Lego too

lazyarse123 · 06/03/2025 19:18

I'm 67 and especially enjoy the cars and flowers. I have 3 Architecture ones which I've enjoyed but they're very repetitive. I'm getting The Endurance for Mother's Day that might be my undoing, I will need help with the rigging after looking at the reviews. I also like Christmas lego. My dd bought me the Santa and sleigh which started the whole obsession.

ReginaaPhalangee · 06/03/2025 19:24

Oh of course!! How can I forget the Christmas Lego!!!

Dearover · 06/03/2025 21:31

This is fun! Botanicals didn't exist in my 40s. I built Creator Expert instead. The Christmas building would have been late 30s/ early 40s as we always built a new one on Christmas Eve. I need a bigger house before I start developing a modular building collection.

coastergirl · 06/03/2025 21:50

I'm 40, single mum with 9 and 5yo boys. I started out with a couple of the architecture builds, have a pretty huge Harry Potter collection, lots of botanicals, the cat, Christmas tree, and my latest: Concorde. My eldest has quite a few Mario sets but he's not that interested. Littlest is definitely more into it and he has a Halloween set, space buggy and 3 in 1 unicorn. We've no space left to put anything!

Somemothersdoavem · 06/03/2025 22:08

I really like the seasonal Lego and swap my sets around. I’ve put my Christmas/winter Lego away and am enjoying spring sets. I’ve bought eater Lego but will put that away after Easter. I’m looking forward to the rumoured small summer bouquet and the new bonsai tree

ReginaaPhalangee · 06/03/2025 23:07

Finished tonight! Found this one quite fiddly

I've started the French cafe tonight and am late to bed. I've done bag 1-3 and it's shaping up nicely. What I never understand is why they build the base that is covered with other things with so many small and colourful pieces that you'll never see again?!
Ive still got the Tudor corner to build and will either put the French cafe next to it or put it on a shelf on its own.
The Easter offerings are poor but then they are never that great.
I've kept the Hocus Pocus house out but it's not prominent. At Halloween it's brought down to be a focal point along with the other Halloween Lego.
I love my little watering can. It's such a bright, happy little build.
I was tempted by the Wednesday set but am still undecided.
I wonder what the new modular will be?

hattie43 · 07/03/2025 08:52

I'm just turned 60 and have varied taste ,
Botanicals , Modular's , winter village , friends , brickheadz, randoms. I just buy what I like and the next on my wish list is the van gough sunflowers but I'm waiting for a decent GWP before buying .
