This is my collection at the moment! I’m currently building the Lego Typewriter 🥰

Finished building the Vespa! It was such a fiddly and fragile build, but I’m so pleased with how it looks 😊

I've got two bags left if the post office and so far it's been a lovely build. Part way through I started using the Lego builder app and it's brilliant. The light in our living room is rubbish for Lego and sometimes the instruction booklet isn't very clear with some of the more unusual pieces and how they fit. The app has been a godsend.
We are going to build the Harry Potter chess set today.

StrikeForever · 31/12/2024 14:00

@LegoTherapy I have downloaded the app. Unfortunately, it can’t really help me with this, my first build. It’s the VW Campervan, long retired, so it just has images from the booklet. I’m getting there, but the booklet instructions are not entirely accurate for this one. I’m enjoying it enough to be hooked though😀

Here's R2D2 😁

And the other recent builds - kids' and mine.

How did I miss this first time round?? Some of you lot are well talented and infinitely patient. 😍😍😍

Floralnomad · 31/12/2024 14:14

The Vespa looks great @Pumpkittenspice . @StrikeForever the camper an is a nice build , we’ve got that one somewhere . My husband has one bag left to do on Jabbas Sailbarge so I will try and put a picture up when he’s finished, it actually looks better in real life than the picture on the box and the inside is very detailed .

LegoTherapy · 31/12/2024 14:15

@StrikeForever (love Strike too) what's the number of the set?

Is anyone getting any of the January 1st sets tomorrow? (Release day)

@LegoTherapy I’m in lust with him😍
I think it’s 10220
I love my husband, but I want to strangle him because he did the base, engine - essentially all the bottom 20% (years ago) having told me I’d made mistakes. I have been happily building away since Christmas, only to discover yesterday that he’s done it wrong and much of my enjoyable work needs to be largely dismantled to redo his early part 🤯🤬😭 Anyone else felt the range at someone else doing this sort of thing.

LegoTherapy · 31/12/2024 15:38

@StrikeForever get in line lady, get in line! 😁

I’m eying up the mini orchid.

Also, we’re away in Tenerife for the first week of February. We’re not sun bathers, so there will be time sitting in the shade reading. Now that we’re bitten by the Lego bug, we thought it would be nice to have a small Lego build each. Any suggestions for this? I think they need to be;

  1. pretty solid when built
  2. not too many ‘sticky out bits’ (less likely to break in luggage)
  3. not too big

What about the Tiny Plants set? You could wrap them in cling film to make sure any pieces are contained

Yes 🙂

I’m loving this friendly, chatty thread. It’s rare there is a discussion on MS these days without someone being arsey isn’t it?

Or the 3 in 1 camera set. That’s a pretty solid build!

Good suggestion.

StrikeForever · 31/12/2024 15:55

We’re going to go into the large Lego Shop in the Metro Centre next week when the kids are back to school and it’s quieter. So we can check out all suggestions.

Needmorelego · 31/12/2024 16:19

@Pumpkittenspice I have a big long wanted list of January 1st sets.
Unfortunately at my mother in laws until the end of the week and not much suitcase space left. May have to just get a bunch of the collectable minifigs !
Technically these will be my Christmas presents. I always think they should do the January 1st sets a couple of weeks early so Santa can deliver them for the big day 🧑‍🎄🎄

Thus is quite a portable build. The mini figures can come off in transit

It is, but I’m not sure what to make of it 😳

This is cute. Not the kind of thing I usually go for, but...

...I also have a bit of a thing for Grogu Baby Yoda

Exactly this . I'm not one for random sets usually stick to botanicals and Modular's but I find the pandas rather enchanting . I'm going to get the lucky bamboo set for them to rest under , my own little scene .

I think I will buy the new modular. Having not yet started the previous modular. Whoops! Consoling myself that I’ll either find the time or end up with more valuable sealed and retired sets if I literally never manage it (unlikely). The GWP (newsstand iirc) looks awesome.

Happy building in 2025 Brew

I really want the new modular too, but I’ll have to wait in order to save for it 😊 I love the GWP too!

Hope to see photos once completed!
