To conclude a fun thread I started about ‘stunning’ men can we vote on the marvellous Mr Peck please. He was mentioned over and over and over again by so many of us. Understandably of course. Love to see if it’s ‘official’ 🤣.

Gary Cooper, Gordon MacRae, Patrick Swayze and Paul Rudd cover the 20th century pretty well between them

Inthesnug · 11/10/2024 20:52

Has no one mentioned the early 90s Mr Pitt? Flipping gorgeous

Sluj · 11/10/2024 20:53

I raise you Howard Keel

Lentilweaver · 11/10/2024 20:53

Modern men don't do it for me. Especially not Brad Pitt. They are usually not in suits or well groomed.

Cel77 · 11/10/2024 20:57

Paul Newman fan here too !

I hear you Lentilweaver

I love a man in a suit or a smart uniform, clichéd though that is!

I feel that Terence Stamp was vair handsome, and has aged well.

Yes - in The Hit. A great film.

Legends of the Fall. Peak Brad.

Gene Wilder for me, but them a sense of humour was always the best way into my pants, rather than good looks.

It's probably a sign that I'm getting older but if they don't age well I'm not interested. So Paul Newman probably wins and many modern actors don't age well thanks to cosmetic surgery. George Clooney is doing well so far though.

After the disappointment of Mr Gable I proffer, and think about it carefully if you lived several centuries back: The Gladiator (for those who aren't just into pretty boys)

Jon Hamm
no other words necessary

Well, one thing’s for certain - they just don’t seem to make the Hollywood hunks like the matinee idols of yesteryear. Now, those were handsome men! Apart from the obvious these days (Elba, Clooney, etc.) they all seem a bit average to me.

Wow - all the guys listed here could be my grandfathers!
What about Zack McCann, Jensen Gering and Chase Ellison?
I know you're all saying WHO?.

How about Christopher Plummer as Captain Von Thirst Trapp?

Oh yes. I always fancied him because of that film!

Pocketfullofdogtreats · 11/10/2024 21:55

Mel Gibson in his first film, called Tim. Wow! Gorgeous.

Horses7 · 11/10/2024 22:01

You are being unreasonable everyone knows Clark Gable tops the old film star hotness chart - watch Gone with the Wind!

I hear you! I won a progress prize at school, result a £5 book voucher. Spent it on a James Cagney biography…had a bit of a crush at the time!

I've been thinking about it and I think it was his Bottom in A Midsummer Nights Dream.

Eta well done on the prize 😃

Love Richard Burton. Very charismatic and lovely tone to his voice.

Also love Oliver Reed too.

Clint Eastwood’s son is also easy on the eye.

Sidney Poitier for his fans (including me). My other tops are Cary Grant and Paul Newman.

Terence Stamp, especially in Far From the Madding Crowd was, for me, the most beautiful man. Closely followed by Paul Newman in absolutely anything, and Franco Nero in The Virgin and the Gypsy.
