have just done a head count in the garden, we have 10 children there (my two plus 8 neighbours). came back into the house and lokked out the window to see two of the mums jumping into the same car and buggering of, i know the dads are working away just now so i take it they are expecting me to look after the children

dd1 is trying to feed them the contents of my cupboard because they are all "starving" and dd2 has just been flattened on the trampoline by a much older boy i have never laid eyes on before.

usually i dont mind the neighbours all coming round as they play well together but they seemed to be multiplying at an alarming rate.

cheeky effing bitches - I'd be annoyed too - ring social services and tell em their parents have gone out and left them

clam · 21/04/2008 12:40

Do you have their numbers? Text them and ask where they are as their kids are asking for them. What a nerve.

Flier · 21/04/2008 12:42

can you make an excuse to go out with your own kids?

tell them if they're hungry to go home and get fed there, then the mothers will have to explain why they weren't there for their kids

dizzydixies · 21/04/2008 12:44

am with cod

avenanap · 21/04/2008 12:45

Phone their parents and tell them you have plans for you and your children today or wait until they return and give them your bill .

BetteNoire · 21/04/2008 12:45

Send them all out of your garden.
Take your children and go out.

TurkeyLurkey · 21/04/2008 12:46

You are right, they are taking the piss. Send them home when you've had enough..it is not your problem to feed them.

nametaken · 21/04/2008 12:46

Whats even worse is that those women know it's lunchtime but instead of giving their kids lunch, they've gone out.

Troutpout · 21/04/2008 12:46

Send them home

kerry - what age group are we talking here?

kerryk · 21/04/2008 12:47

dont worry i am not feeding them. i should have explained myself in the op a bit better, the children whose parents have just left are from fiji (army estate) and they dont seem to be as worried about being in the house for the children then what i am, usually if the mum is not there they will go to another fijians house. all vry well and lovely that they have this close knit community thing going on but i have no part in this and dont appreciate them leaving me with the kids. i have asked the kids who is supposed to have thm but they dont have a clue.

send them home then, if thats their attitude

btw are you near to me at all, am sure you wouldn't notice another 2?!?

NotABanana · 21/04/2008 12:49

Send them home, definitely and I would be having words with the mothers who buggered off.

Or, keep them all hostage until dark and see if the mums even care where their kids are.

nametaken · 21/04/2008 12:49

time you started giving these fijians some cultural lessons in what is an isn't acceptable behaviour in this country.

dizzydixies · 21/04/2008 12:49

pmsl rubyrubyruby - blue smarties allround?

Mamazon · 21/04/2008 12:50

Send the kids back home s you have a desperatly important appointment to attend.

the kids will come straight back saying that mummy isn't home.

when mummy returns you can then get very angry at them and explain that you had a very important appointment you needed to go to but couldnt because they left their children unattended.

I would be fuming.

bananaknickers · 21/04/2008 12:50

They are taking the piss! I would jump in the car with mine and go out. How old are they all?

markiedarlin · 21/04/2008 12:51

I think that they are taking the pee.

Did you say or give any hint that they could leave their children with you? think that they have a cheek running off leaving them with you if this was not the arrangement at all. Would definitely give them a ring and say that you've got to go out or something so they will have to come back and collect them, where are the parents for the other children?

avenanap · 21/04/2008 12:53

Get the kids to clean the house and do the gardening for you. They won't want to come back next time. (I'm not saying it needs a clean though!!!)
