My health

My wonderful DC

My love of the outdoors and outdoor pursuits brings me great joy. I am lucky to live somewhere beautiful and adore cycling & trail running (although sadly currently injured!)

I have over the last couple of years made two friends, who while it is relatively early days, feel like “my people”. This feels amazing as I have struggled with friendships for so long (I am in my 40s) and had pretty much given up on making friends as an adult when I met these two wonderful women.

Enough money and work hard but flexibility

(For the sake of giving a balanced view, I do have a few things that aren’t so great, but this post is about the positives so I won’t go into detail)

SkaneTos · 22/09/2024 21:44

My family and friends.

A new season of a tv series that I like.

My hair looks OK.

Planning a holiday for next year.

Whoiam · 22/09/2024 21:48

The love and freedom of accepting Jesus Christ as my life and saviour.

"Peace be upon you, my peace I leave with you..it's a peace this world can never offer. Do not be troubled or afraid."

Living on my own at 62.
I've spent my life trying to please husbands and other relatives and getting nothing in return.
Now I do what I want when I want, I have my own lovely home somewhere where I've always wanted to live and a job I love.
I've stopped trying to please other people and I've never been happier.

Mydogisaknob · 22/09/2024 21:52

My friends. They are my family.

My dog - ignore my username.

My job. It has purpose. I love who I work with.

I'm stronger and fitter than I've ever been.

Coffee.

Good food.

Good books.

Thinkingpay · 22/09/2024 21:53

Lovely DH
Mortgage free
Freedom
Very easy and enjoyable part time job
Doing up our dream house

Very very lucky.
I had an awful traumatic past so I feel privileged to still be here, let alone be this fortunate now.

Lolatusernamesuggestions · 22/09/2024 21:56

These are lovely OP. Really heart warming.
I'll take good health thanks very much, plus my little wee family unit.

My recent luck - I’m still here.

JazzieC · 22/09/2024 21:59

I have a wonderful relationship with DH - companionable and easy.

My relationship with DD, who is diagnosed with ASD and ADHD has gone from fraught to incredibly warm and loving since she started uni.

I live in a beautiful place and have a job that I love within 30 mins walk from where I live.

Life is incredibly difficult at the moment but I really treasure these things.

GiddyRobin · 22/09/2024 21:59

My family. My DH is kind, clever, funny, and makes every day romantic and beautiful. My kids are hilarious and so clever and affectionate. They're exhausting, too, but I get excited to see them as soon as I open my eyes of a morning.

My job. I love it and I can't believe I've managed to get the position I have.

My hobbies. Knowing I get to jump into them in my spare time gives me drive.

My home. Big but not too big. A bit chaotic, a bit fancy, a bit shabby, and completely and utterly perfect and ours. We're mortgage free and it'll be bittersweet to sell up when we leave for Norway in a couple of years.

The change in season! I love all the seasons, despite getting quite bad SAD in the darker months. I'm loving long walks with the dogs and family at the minute, getting ready for winter.

Dogs and horses. Cats, too. Though I'm not sure they deserve that after stealing the salmon I left out while I popped for a wee tonight.

Phen0menon · 22/09/2024 21:59

My family. Kids, dh, siblings, parents, cats.

My home. Its my sanctuary

The fortune of living in a safe, prosperous country like the UK.

WeneedSamVimesonthecase · 22/09/2024 22:01

Obviously my fabulous DC. My DH - he’s a kind, devoted, funny man and I’m grateful to share my life with him.

My little dog. Just looking at his sweet face makes me happy.

My job. It’s very part time, minimum wage, and of no significance to anyone - but it’s fun, I really like my colleagues, and I look forward to going to work.

My house plants and my tiny bit of garden. I used to be instant death to any kind of plant, but over the last couple of years I’ve much improved and keep more alive than I kill. My house and garden are now full of greenery and that brings me great pleasure.

Foxybyname · 22/09/2024 22:02

My health. My kids health.

Having the strength to walk away from a 30 year marriage that was no longer making me happy.

The subsequent home I have made for me (and my late teen kids).

Seeing my children thrive. If they're happy I'm happy.

SunQueen24 · 22/09/2024 22:13

My health and my families health.
My husband and children. The feeling of peace being together.
The country views from my bedroom window.
The fact I can work flexibly and earn good money doing so.

LunaNorth · 22/09/2024 22:16

Swimming in a local wild swimming spot.
Learning to draw and paint.
Being fitter than ever at fifty.
Learning who has my back - it’s not always necessarily whom I thought it would be.
Silent discos! I really missed dancing.
Having a really satisfying job.
As always, my DH.

Eyesopenwideawake · 22/09/2024 22:16

My (sometime) long suffering DP, my dogs, horses and other assorted animals, the beautiful area I call home and the amazing feedback I get from the work I do. Being able to change lives is just...magic.
