My youngest is 24 and today he and his lovely girlfriend cooked us a roast lunch in their flat.

My freedom - single, financially secure and I live in a country where I can do pretty much anything I want, as a previous poster said.

My fabulous friends
My home - still working on it but it’s secure, comfortable and designed exactly how I want it
Family - we’re not super-close but we are all on good terms and meet up regularly

I have been incredibly lucky in my life.

I have a lot of freedom.

My health is better than it has been.

I have a DP who is good to me.

I live in a nice house in a good area.

My DCs go to good schools.

I have a car.

I have leisure time and things to amuse myself with.

I have friends.

I have a social life.

I sleep well.

I should have decades of life left.

My amazing children and watching them find their way I'm the world as adults. Our dawg... not a.day goes by he doesn't make me smile.

runrugrun · 22/09/2024 23:15

Knowing Jesus loves me. Lots other joys as well but nothing quite like that peace of knowing God is always there for me.

AmeliaEarache · 22/09/2024 23:16

My garden - a source of joy to me whatever the season. Knowing it well: which birds prefer which trees and shrubs, which cats the squirrels will square up to and which they’ll hide from, what fruit or veg will come into season when.

The relationships my adult children have with each other. They love, respect and enjoy each other’s company so much, it’s just wonderful. Hearing them making each other laugh is amazing.

Nourishinghandcream · 22/09/2024 23:18

Monday tomorrow and I don't have to get up (early retirement has its benefits).
When the weather dries up we are off to the coast for a few days in the MoHo, let the Ddogs have a good run along the beach and some bracing walks across the clifftop paths.
Bliss!🙂

My husband. Cheesy as it is he's my very best friend and I'm very fortunate to have him in my life. He brings out the very best in me and always has.

My daughter. She's a delight, hilarious, clever, beautiful, tough, everything I dreamed she would or could be and I'm so proud of her. If she wasn't sixteen and in her "bruh" phase I'd squeeze her until her heed popped off.

My pals. They're my other family and they're the best of people, I'm very lucky to have a group of such wonderful maniacs in my life that can make me pee myself laughing effortlessly or be there hold my hand through the very worst of times.

Honourable mention to my dogs and cats, the big furry idiots.

My money. Investments are doing very well. Looking forward to retiring early and security for my dcs.

SophiaSW1 · 22/09/2024 23:42

My children

Botheredmum · 22/09/2024 23:47

My little boy.
As someone who was on the fence my whole life about having kids, I’m lucky I came down on this side because he’s the best thing that ever happened to me.

Whichoneisthebest · 22/09/2024 23:51

My dog. God I love that creature more than life itself

Strawberrycheesecake7 · 22/09/2024 23:54

Definitely my son. I dreamed of being a mum my whole life. He's 15 months old now and I still can't believe I actually have him.

Icanthinkformyselfthanks · 22/09/2024 23:57

My husband, my sons, my beautiful daughters in law and my wonderful grandchildren. I am absolutely blessed. 😊

Karmaisac4t · 22/09/2024 23:58

My fiance, he is my partner in crime, my best friend, the love of my life and I am blessed to have him.
Our lovely little dog, he’s a rescue and entering his senior years but he has brought me so much joy and love and I am honoured to have him.

Mortgage free and so grateful

most of all, that my mums cancer was removed fully with surgery and she required no further treatment.

NunyaBeeswax · 23/09/2024 00:00

Getting into my freshly made bed, with freshly shaved legs and comfortable but nice feeling underwear.

Being single.

Knowing my kid is safe, fed and warm.

...
Not necessarily in that order..
🤪

My favourite at the moment are from Amazon, they're called "Wirarpa"
I like the boy shorts best but I have some of the longer cycling shorts too for walking. They seem well made for the price and they've been through the wash loads and seem like new still.

Lentilweaver · 23/09/2024 07:27

I am in my 50s and in reasonably good health. I work at it but ofc no guarantee of good health even if you work at it. Most of my friends the same age aren't.

My mum really loves me and always has. Even if we argue.

Fescue · 23/09/2024 07:31

A huge pile of gold in my cellar. Bars, coins, all sorts of treasure. Gold, rubies and diamonds. Goblets from the East Indies bejewelled with sapphires and emeralds. Twists of silver and pearls aplenty. On wet weekends I light some candles down there and get it all out and count it again.

BigDahliaFan · 23/09/2024 07:37

My dog. She's lying asleep as a furry snoring little blob on the end of the bed. She's adorable, funny, and loves me.
