My wonderful relationship with my husband. I feel so loved and in love every day, even after 15 years of marriage.

Living in a time and place that I can choose how I want to live my life - childfree. In the past, and even now in certain countries, that would be frowned upon (or not even an option to choose)

My dog

Currently on track with our financial goals

Doing the things I love to do - reading a book in my home library, building a jigsaw puzzle, looking forward to our enjoyable tv shows each week

Wishing you a beautiful pregnancy. I had a loss before my first and before my second. Treasure each moment and every little kick. I'm so happy for you. ❤️

That is so kind, thank you. I’m sorry you went through that, too ♥️

I feel incredibly lucky and happy that our immediate family get on so well and all enjoy life. Adult DC stay in touch with us, they both have jobs they love and partners who are loving and kind. I love my job. DH is gentle and calm and clever and kind and has taken over all the cooking. We have plans now the DC are gone - not all of them shared, but lots of things we both want to do together.

Devilsmommy · 22/09/2024 22:24

Hearing my 2 year old son cracking up with laughter because DH is being a plonker🤣

familyissues12345 · 22/09/2024 22:24

My children - drive me nuts a lot of time, but in a jokey way. We're so lucky that we've got such good children.

My dog - love of my life

Lovely house - hated our last one of 15 years. Pinch myself over this one!

Part time worker - great work/home balance

Thank you! Life throws some horrible things our way sometimes, but these beautiful treasures are to be cherished. I hope everything goes swimmingly - you deserve it!

💯 my dog

That’s the most beautiful dog I’ve ever seen 🥰

BIossomtoes · 22/09/2024 22:28

Being alive. I’ve had 48 bonus years to date after almost dying and I’m so grateful for every day of them. I’m incredibly lucky.

The love and freedom of accepting Jesus Christ as my life and saviour.

"Peace be upon you, my peace I leave with you..it's a peace this world can never offer. Do not be troubled or afraid."

I came to write the same thing - knowing peace with God through the forgiveness of my personal sins, through Christ's atonement on the cross.

Atonement comes from the meaning 'to be at one with'. There is nothing like being 'at one' with God.

GingerPirate · 22/09/2024 22:37

That dog is very good.

Being child free.

Cattenberg · 22/09/2024 22:37

Things are fairly tough at the moment due to a relative’s health issues, but I still have a lot to be thankful for:

I’m lucky to have my DD and although she isn’t the easiest child, she’s bright and creative and can be an absolute joy.

I own my own home with a garden. In my 20s, I badly wanted this but feared it would never be possible.

My job is tedious but mostly low stress and with very flexible hours, so my work/life balance is excellent.

Kiuyni · 22/09/2024 22:38

I retrained as a counsellor a couple of years ago at 57. I absolutely love my job. It's the best thing I've ever done.

5128gap · 22/09/2024 22:47

My family. My adult DC for being my friends, going on holidays and nights out with me and making me laugh.
My DGC for letting me have a second go round at the little one fun stuff, but without too much of the hard graft.
A particular shout out to my lovely DiL, who shares her DC with me with such generosity, never controlling or demanding, and makes me grateful every time I read a MiL/DiL thread on here.
My partner for making me feel young and carefree and as though its all ahead of me, even though there's actually a great deal more behind. The amazing women I have the privilege to work with, and that I get to do work I love, that makes a difference, where I'm valued, and pays enough for my needs and some fun.
That I laugh every day. That I'm in great health. That I have finally managed to crack diet and excercise and maintain a healthy lifestyle for the 4th year running. That I love my home, which although modest, is just how I want it and a joy to be in. That most people I meet are lovely to me. That I WFH now three days a week and am so much less tired.

5128gap · 22/09/2024 22:49

I know you said The best thing, ie one thing, but once I got going it felt so good! Thanks for this thread. Counting your blessings is very uplifting!

DiscoinFrisco · 22/09/2024 22:54

Dh and dc
Wonderful friends
Ddog
My job. I love it.
Lovely home
Countryside out of my window
All beyond my wildest dreams when i was younger. I thank my lucky stars every day.

WonderingWanda · 22/09/2024 22:59

My children when they aren't squabbling with each other or arguing with me, such a joy to watch them achieve things and discover new stages of life.

My dh, kind, dependable, handsome, loving and generous. Obviously, he does annoying things too like leaving wet towels on the bed sometimes but on the whole he is a good person and I feel so lucky to be with him.

The view from my house, a beautiful valley and woodland.

My health.

Safety and freedom. I live in a lovely friendly village in a country which despite its flaw allows me the safety and freedom to live my life, unlike the women of Afghanistan, or those living in conflict zones right now. I can't imagine being afraid to speak my mind or fearing for my children's lives on a daily basis.

Supersimkin7 · 22/09/2024 22:59

My Secret Garden. I made it leaf by leaf from rejects and rubbish over a junkyard.

goingdownfighting · 22/09/2024 23:00

My family

motherofonegirl · 22/09/2024 23:02

My daughter - brave, determined and strong as she copes with medical issues, dyslexia and anxiety and is such good company. She makes me so proud every day.

My dogs - two springer spaniels. One has a lot of joint issues but is such a good natured dog. He is amazing. I really look up to him. They force me out for walks every day even when I'm busy or tired and it's raining.

Nature. I love being outside and seeing the countryside, the views, life all around us. Nature is amazing and beautiful if you take the time to appreciate it.

Having enough money to live a comfortable life without worrying about money too much. We have a good lifestyle - several mini breaks or holidays each year and can afford to replace things when they break.

motherofonegirl · 22/09/2024 23:03

Working part time

ForeverDelayedEpiphany · 22/09/2024 23:04

My DC and DH and my parents are my true blessings. I'm so proud of them, and incredibly grateful for having their support over a very difficult decade of poor health.

I had a head injury and post concussion syndrome before being injured by an off label antipsychotic prescribed for severe insomnia and anxiety, and I've suffered from a neurological involuntary movement disorder called tardive dyskinesia ever since.

I'm now in the throes of perimenopause and hate how my body has totally let me down 😪💔 I was incredibly fortunate to be fit and healthy for most of my life, and probably took my health for granted a bit... health is most definitely wealth.

Still, I'm here and blessed with wonderful children, family and my lovely home, so things are good in that respect.

EngineEngineNumber9 · 22/09/2024 23:05

DH! Cheesy but it’s true.

Also love the area I live and work in. Lots of lovely cafés, shops, the beach, my parents are around the corner and we’re in a city that’s so beautiful it feels like a dream to live here.
