Covid - anyone unwell now?

HappyWorkingMummy · 26/07/2024 21:40

I currently have Covid and have been in bed for days feeling ghastly.

Anyone else got it atm or anyone recently recovered? I am questioning how long I will feel so rotten for.

I've just had it, was ill for 2 weeks but bad enough for bed I'd say for 2 days then now I'm in the post viral fatigue phase where by 2/3 pm I feel done in for the day. I'd say I've been affected by it for over 3 weeks now 🫣🫣🫣🫣

JaceLancs · 26/07/2024 21:44

I suspect I had it 2/3 weeks ago - felt absolutely wiped out for about 10 days but am now back to my usual tired self!

Cannotthinkofausername09876 · 26/07/2024 21:50

Yes! I tested positive on Tuesday. I’ve been stuck in bed for three days and just started feeling as though I’m improving today. So rubbish!

gamerchick · 26/07/2024 21:53

Its ruddy everywhere. As soon as someone says they have a cold but their eyes feel like piss holes in the snow I'm off and swerving them for a bit. Its every other day man!

bridgetreilly · 26/07/2024 21:54

Yup. But not so badly as the friend I caught it from, nor anything like as badly as when I had it in 2022. Three days of a bad cold and a bit tired, but getting better quite quickly now.

My sincere condolences you have also felt so ghastly. It's really nasty and has floored me.

How awful for you. Splendid to know that this shouldn't last too much longer

It's a shocker. Worst I've been for many years. Floored!

Me! A bit poorly Sunday and Monday. Bad Tuesday, as a PP said "absolutely ghastly" Wednesday, did actually think at one point if I die I don't mind 😁, Thursday tad better, today fair bit better but still in bed.... Have lost sense of taste this time round, they hasn't happened before. Just very very faint sense left.

LindorDoubleChoc · 26/07/2024 22:24

I know SO MANY people with covid or just recovering from covid right now (south east London). It's quite grim, as always. People seem to be taking 7 to 14 days to shake it off.

Mooda · 26/07/2024 22:26

In bed proper ill for a week, another week of trying to work but going back to bed in the afternoon, only started to feel noticeably better on day 17. It started 5 weeks ago today and only really felt back to normal this week. It's nasty.

I can't taste anything. Or smell.

This may not be a bad thing as I haven't showered for a couple of days. I just can't face it.

I feel sorry for my partner and kids when they check on me.

I had it last week. It's the worst illness I've ever had. 9 days of full blown flu symptoms. I still don't feel 100% now (2 weeks on) but I'm getting there.

What’s everyone’s symptoms with Covid at the minute? I’ve had a terrible sore throat today.

Hope all those that have it feel better soon.

LuckysDadsHat · 26/07/2024 22:37

I am coming up to 2.5 weeks and o was in bed for 2 weeks. Only started getting up and about on Wednesday. I am just left absolutely exhausted.

JockTamsonsBairns · 26/07/2024 22:47

Are people getting time off work with Covid?

I'm a carer on a zero hours contract. I don't get paid if I'm off, and we've been told we need to come to work.

Do you all get paid as normal if you're off sick?

RealHousewivesOfTaunton · 26/07/2024 22:48

It was sweeping through DD's school at the end of term. Her class had 10 kids off for the whole last week, including DD. She was miserable for 5 days, tired on day 6 and 7 and generally ok after that. DH caught it on her day 3, felt crap for a couple of days, had a day off work on Monday and is now ok. DS came down with it on Sunday, has had a headache and a sore throat but is generally ok, if tired. We had a bunch of old tests in the cupboard and I apparently I haven't caught it, but I've been exhausted all week, with a runny nose and a tickly throat.

I hope you're all better soon!

No I don't get paid either. It must be nice for those who can take time off sick and still get paid though.

VWT5 · 26/07/2024 22:53

Unwell for a full 2 weeks, and headache for a further week.

soundsys · 26/07/2024 22:56

What symptoms has everyone for? I feel wiped out and awful but doesn't feel like covid classic so not sure if I have another illness simultaneously 😩 (I feel really nauseous with stomach and back pain as well)

Justhereforaibu1 · 26/07/2024 23:09

Sore throat Sunday evening, bedridden next 3 days with fever on the first two, extreme tiredness, aches and headaches and weird purple joints for a time. Out of bed for periods on Thursday and fairly normal Friday just tired.
