Passports - is there anything I can do?

Not sure what I’m asking really but DT’s passports haven’t been dispatched and our flight is 6.45am Wednesday.

It’s not looking good is it? Is there anything I can do?

Would be grateful for any constructive advice.

I don’t think the OP is going to come back. Shame. The fast-track service is there for a reason, it’s sad that people had to get nasty.

Contact your MP. Their staff will cut through it all. You may have to collect the passport.

It's a bit late for that as OPs flight is early tomorrow morning

Apologies, l somehow thought Wednesday was more days away. My bad. But in future if you are two days away from your holiday. Get your MP.

Did your passports come back on time?

Some people drive down to the passport office it’s being processed at. You’re not supposed to but apparently that works and they normally have a queue of people trying to collect

Its the passive aggressive way its been worded.

Hello everyone, no they haven’t arrived. They’re due today between 11am & 2pm 🤞

We’ve missed the flights. Am not doing anything until I have the passports.

This 3 month ruling really caught me out.

That's not a serious suggestion is it?, you think MPs at the start of a new government faced with sorting out the country should be spending time on the holiday of someone who didn't check the rules

I am. It is dealing with a govt dept. MPs are there to serve their constituents & this would be a part of their constituency casework. They have staff who can do this.

Hello Everyone

Yes they came on day 8. Managed to get early morning flights from an airport a 3 hour drive away, necessitating an overnight stay in a hotel.

Actually, - to the poster who said to go down and wait outside the passport office - I did see groups of people hanging around outside on the day I took the old, in-date passports down there. I wondered what they were doing. They must have been waiting for their passports, which I thought was strictly against the rules. Sometimes being 100% compliant doesn’t get you anywhere.

Changed the hotel dates. On holiday now. Thanks again for your positivity everyone.
