MN has been ghastly lately. so yes, a bit like the DM.

MehgaLegs · 11/04/2008 10:35

know what you mean

CountessDracula · 11/04/2008 10:35

So much intolerance

rantings about people on benefits
rich people
string up crims
castrate paedos

OP posts:
constancereader · 11/04/2008 10:35

yes

dal21 · 11/04/2008 10:36

god yes! what is going on at the moment? mnet seems to have gone slightly mad. am considering taking a mnet sabbatical until things return to normal

allgonebellyup · 11/04/2008 10:37

although i do agree with castrate paedos

the rest is shit

numbercrunch · 11/04/2008 10:40

I agree - did wonder whether it was just me.

Feel a bit about it.

stleger · 11/04/2008 10:40

Some Guardian journalist (Roy Greenslade maybe) was on the radio a while ago, he has the Mail delivered. (If not Mr. Greenslade I apologise...) It raises his blood pressure and makes him yell. I get the Mail occasionally and have a rant. It is the Irish edition, there is a fabulous right wing columnist I despise. Dh thinks I am the only person ever to become more lefty as i age.

TheProdigalShow · 11/04/2008 10:40

Have just returned from a 6 week mnet sabbatical, may make it another 6 weeks and get on with the spring clean.

And it's not even a full moon....

kiskideesameanoldmother · 11/04/2008 10:43

the typos and misplaced apostrophe in the title speaks volumes.

who are these people?

where do they come from?

how can we send them back!

fletchaaarr · 11/04/2008 10:44

The up side is that I might drag my sorry, guardian reading, lefty-liberal, bleeding heart ass away from the computer and tidy my house instead (what I was meant to be doing)

It is . I think if I was to think about joining now, I may read some of the threads and hightail it far far away!

Pennypops · 11/04/2008 10:47

YANBU - I've logged on yesterday and today for the first time in ages and its all got a bit scary. If I want to hear right wing ranting I'll call my mother

niceglasses · 11/04/2008 10:49

Its not just MN - its the whole world. I really believe the DM has a plot to take over the world, and they are winning........

kiskideesameanoldmother · 11/04/2008 10:49

good point fletch. but i am also reeling from the flu so the thought of housework is not good (on any day) and would like to be outside pottering in the garden instead of bitching about MN.

No19 · 11/04/2008 10:50

Point re. intolerance, nimbyism, lack of compassion displayed on MN - strongly agree.

Point re. "they" / "these people" have poor grammar, what would you expect - strongly disagree.

AitchTwoOh · 11/04/2008 10:53

see i really hate all that 'i blame mothercare' chat, it's so snooty. but there definitely are some right thicko posters here at the moment...

maidamess · 11/04/2008 10:53

(Puts on Devils Advocate hat)

Why is there not room for people with differing opinions to your own? If we all agreed on everything, wouldn't life be dull?

I think folk should be able to discuss what they want. You can't please everybody all of the time. Why do other peoples opinions matter so much to you? if you are firm in what you believe, and act accordingly, whats the harm?

SquonkTheBeerGuru · 11/04/2008 10:54

tis indeed odd on here today

Any minute now, there'll be someone coming on this thread to tell us we're a bunch of narrow minded feckers for criticising the Daily Mail (you wait and see....)

CountessDracula · 11/04/2008 10:54

Oh I agree

I was merely commenting on the proliferation of DM style threads today

OP posts:
AitchTwoOh · 11/04/2008 10:55

because, maidamess, at the moment MN's shitey and boring to read and It Used To Be Better and More Interesting. [dumbed down]
