YANBU OP. Of course it’s “not all Brits”, but there’s a huge British culture of going abroad to get wasted for a week. Closely related to stag dos. Have an unfortunate tendency to fall off hotel balconies. It’s awful, while I wouldn’t dream of it I can’t blame residents of those resorts for tarring all Brits with the same brush.

Yes but that's about there not being enough affordable places to live for locals particularly because of airbnb's and also hotels being built rather than houses - and the terrible overcrowding in the summer as a result.

Rowdy northern Europeans have caused problems in Spain for decades and lots of rules have been brought in now in the Balearics such as 6 drink max at AI hotels, a ban on organised pub crawls, a ban on advertising alcohol promotions in some problem areas etc.

These guys are obviously dicks though and he should have been kept in so he missed the wedding IMO.

Portuguese news but you get the picture. I was on a flight from the U.K. to Faro (Algarve) 10 days ago and there was a huge group of foul, pissed up English men. Ryanair served them more alcohol on the flight too. They were shouting profanities including whether others had clocked that “ginger’s” [cabin crew] fucking arse which they’d bang. There were small children and families on the flight.

Majorca has an equally big problem with German stag dos in S'Arenal

Had some relatives there recently and they were too intimidated to go out after dark after a young German man came over and repeatedly punched their table sending the table contents flying. They are nearly 80 and were frightened by the incident. They saw people unconscious in the middle of the day, multiple ambulances being called out and brawling. Both men and women.

Sadly some people behave like savages, they don't have to be British to do so.

This was weeks ago op. Threads like this just add fuel to the fire. I’m back currently in Mallorca as we travel back and forth a lot: the English I have seen here have behaved beautifully.

FWIW I agree with you totally op and, no, it is by no means only the English. I don't tend to drink alcohol and all these problems are caused by people's inability to believe it is possible to have a good time without getting completely smashed
Britain as a whole has a very unhealthy attitude to booze.
