I know I’m being unreasonable but it’s bloody annoying.

I do this, me mum, me dad 😁

MsLuxLisbon · 06/06/2024 17:55

It is inexcusable in written English. In spoken, it's not quite so bad as some dialects use 'me' rather than 'my'.

Hotnamehere · 06/06/2024 17:56

I don't get annoyed by different dialects. I quite like them.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 06/06/2024 17:57

i say mi mum,mi dad,mi tea,mi coffee.
yorkshire people speak like this along with plenty of others Yabu

LakieLady · 06/06/2024 18:00

YANBU, it gets right on me tits.

Rickrolypoly · 06/06/2024 18:00

Sometimes you just need to. Kiss me arse just sounds better 😂

bryceQ · 06/06/2024 18:01

It's common in my home dialect. I don't say it, but it doesn't bother me.

GeckoFeet · 06/06/2024 18:02

Definitely not as bad as could of and would of

Cantrushart · 06/06/2024 18:03

Worse than myself?

DistinguishedSocialCommentator · 06/06/2024 18:03

I'm glad I don't live in that kind of area or personally know people like that

It makes me cringe when I hear that rant!!!

Soboredofdiettalk · 06/06/2024 18:04

Ma mammy, me da etc... not unusual where I grew up in Ireland. I actually think this is a dialect thing and not an error like "could of" or "I went pub last night"

MiriamMay · 06/06/2024 18:05

What you’re basically saying is that you hate some regional dialects.

Me Julie

maw1681 · 06/06/2024 18:17

Sorry but YABU, people say that because of regional accents...do you want to go back to the days of only allowing Received Pronunciation on the BBC too? Hmm
