In the same vain as my last post about what jobs would put you off..

Which careers would you imagine would make you more likely to date someone?
Light-hearted of course.

Mine would be-

Musician
Artist
Academic
Engineer
Plumber
Joiner
Cannabis farmer

What would yours be?

I don't agree with having a "checklist" for finding a partner. Shows a great degree of immaturity.

A job says nothing about a person except what their salary might be, and if that's your only criteria for a partner you can expect to be very lonely.

Edited

I think some jobs say a huge amount about who you are as a person.

My husband is an airline pilot.

I'd rather have a cannabis farmer!

Do you get cheap business/first tickets for the carrier?

GreenGoblin666 · 22/05/2024 17:52

Yeah we do.

It's one of the very few perks!

Exactly - he'd be working evenings and weekends which is not very compatible with a 9-5 job if that's what you have, or with family life.

I’ve always warned friends not to date chefs, in my experience in kitchens they very often have a temper and a coke habit! Glad you’ve got a good one though!

Yes I work 9-5 and we have 2 young kids and I see him one evening a week 🤣

Trillionaire
Billionaire
Millionaire
Sugar Daddy
Something they enjoy that isn’t to the detriment of others or animals, not hugely fussed what it is.

Well I wouldn't pick another accountant. He leaves his pants on the floor and picks his feet. He's quite a good cook but he's not that good with money. I defo wouldn't have another one.

Are cannabis farmer's feet better?

Accountants are renowned for being not that great with their own money. Not sure how true it is. The rest probably has nothing to do with his being an accountant Smile

jotex · 22/05/2024 18:58

When I met my now-ex he was still a Catholic priest. You know what they say about forbidden fruit..

GalactiCat · 22/05/2024 19:03

A naval officer. Away for 9 months of the year would do me nicely 🤣

GingerPirate · 22/05/2024 19:18

Light hearted ❤️ is fine!
I won't choose a partner anymore now (long time married), but never, ever a musician.
In fact, weirdly, I would be embarrassed about that particular occupation.
Cannabis farmer though 😂

MichaelAndEagle · 22/05/2024 19:26

Fireman 🔥

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 22/05/2024 19:34

What nonsense. The job you choose often says absolutely loads about your interests, strength, skills and possibly personality. Not always, but often.

I'd always go for men with white collar jobs requiring a fairly high level of education. No attraction to stereotypically masculine, physical jobs.

HorribleHisTories15 · 22/05/2024 19:37

Brilliant 🤩 @Butchyrestingface absolutely brilliant 🤩

I'm an engineer and married to an engineer. Things can get a bit technisch sometimes but I like @Butchyrestingface 's approach.

HotBotHarry · 22/05/2024 19:37

My vet DH is also a dab hand at DIY. Turns into a gibbering wreak when he sees a spider though so I can't have everything.

LadyHavelockVetinari · 22/05/2024 19:39

Not the first three, chronically unemployed!

I'm going to answer this question honestly. I wish I had married an academic.

BruFord · 22/05/2024 20:38

Butchyrestingface · 22/05/2024 17:31

Independently wealthy and nearly dead. ⚰

If something ever happens to my DH, I might be interested in one of those too, @Butchyrestingface. 🤣
