Nothing much in there is a pound and they are stocking clothing etc?
Do they need a name change?
Misleading.

Poundsland would do I suppose. Barely seems worth the effort of rebranding though.

KrisAkabusi · 14/05/2024 20:29

They trade as Dealz in Ireland and other Euro countries.

Clothes are at the back there's nothing telling you they sell clothes.
Poundland isn't appropriate today.

i picked up a small toy in Dealz (Polly Pocket or similar) last week & went to pay, thinking it would be 3 or 4 quid. It was €12.99! I days I didn’t want it. Might as well go to Smyths!

Pay Exactly the same as you would anywhere else - land

Jiski · 14/05/2024 21:06

It’s not called everything’s a pound land. So although they used to sell things for only a pound, they don’t have to change their name as it still sells things in multiples of pounds.

NeverEnoughPants · 14/05/2024 21:06

Why are you picking on Poundland, when everything5pounds exists...

Nikkynakkynoo · 14/05/2024 21:10

Haha...I took DS recently and he took great delight in pointing out every single thing that wasn't a pound 😂

SabreIsMyFave · 14/05/2024 21:11

Agree. Needed changing about 5-6 years ago truth be told.

Allfur · 14/05/2024 21:25

I guess Iceland don't just sell frozen goods

Danikm151 · 14/05/2024 21:26

£1.25 land doesn’t have the same ring to it.

They also seem to be stocking much more home ware so £4.50 land more like!

The clothing is branded as Pep&co- that’s even more expensive than a couple of years ago

YoureALizardHarry11 · 14/05/2024 21:27

If everything was priced in £1 increments, £1, £2, £3, £4 etc then it would make a bit more sense, but it’s not and most things are cheaper elsewhere anyway. The £1 things are usually just tat. I’m surprised it’s still going what with the likes of b&m and home bargains being better now.
