To ask how much you spend on holidays per year?

I haven't been abroad in years and a bit shocked after seeing the prices these days. Even a week in a nearby European country is expensive on a budget airline.

I have family members who take 4-5 holidays/trips a year and they must be spending a fortune!

We have spent 700-1000 for the last few years on holiday lets in Cornwall in August.

Obviously there is also spend on food and days out while there but not extravagant.

We may have odd Weekends away but always in the uk

We spent 1200 last year and about the same this year but that’s in the UK. The last trip overseas was America end of 2019 and was about 5k and that was before covid when it was a bit cheaper. The most expensive was a 2 week Med cruise.

We’ve spent £10K this year but that’s unusual for us and because we had a big birthday and two holidays abroad plus a UK holiday. Our norm would be 3-4K.

I’d estimate around £8000 this year. 3 foreign holidays and one UK break this year. It’s been much less in previous years with an average spend of £3000-£4000.

Again we're spending a lot (a slightly uncomfortable amount - affordable but...) as its likely to be our last family holiday. Usually about £1k.

I go on holiday or short breaks all through the year..
I went to spain for a week for £300 that was spending money as well.
But i dont buy stuff i go for the weather and a look about.
Went to ibiza for £230 for a week got a flash deal saw it bought it went the the following month.
Went to barcelona for £180 return flights also been for as little as £80 return.
Paris and nice less than £200.
Just search around.
My sister booked a flight for £32 to milan round trip for june fingers crossed i can get the same price.

We’re going to Portugal on 22nd may, 2 adults and 4 kids for a week all inclusive for £3000. We’ll then need another £1000 for spending money and airport money etc. We booked this holiday last June and got a really good deal, it’s now doubled in price on Jet2. Me and my DH did a city break in January to Barcelona which was about £1000 for flight, accommodation and spends. Also did a weekend in Haven in April for about £300.
I save each month for holidays, will probably book next summers as soon as we’re back in June.

Off topic a bit but why do you need another £1k when it’s all inclusive?! We’re going AI and I’m hoping £50 for airport food at both ends is pretty much all we’ll be spending!

Last year:

1 long haul big holiday. Plus 3 smaller city breaks/Center Parcs.

About £16k.

This year same again but the long haul is a little less due to being a more affordable destination. So about £13k.

The smaller trips add up to around £2-3k.

We have years where we stay in the UK for our summer break so then that's only about £1k. Just so happens we've had a couple of big years in a row.

15k on one 2 week holiday in europe - 4 children 2 adults. Flights alone were 3.5k because there’s so many of us 😃

Everyone has different amounts of disposable income.

Probably about 6k this year for two of us - two holidays abroad and quite a lot of short UK breaks.

Probably about £4k for a week all inclusive, and a weekend abroad, plus a couple of UK weekends.

We went on our first A.I last year and took €60 and it's all we needed.

3.5k Abroad Easter break (2 adults 2 teenage children)
1k Whitsun UK break (2 adults 2 teenage children)
8k Summer holiday (3 adults 2 teenage children)

This is standard for us most years because the children are older and it’s very expensive!

Around 10k this year, 2weeks all inclusive in a 5* hotel in Cape Verde. That does include dog sitter and airport lounges, parking etc though.

In the last year, about €7500 excluding food and spending money.

That was 2 adults 2 children. One city break followed by sporting event in Europe. The flights there were 3k because of the sport event. Then a week in apartments in lanzarote in November, 4 days in London (airbnb) and a week in a eurocamp in Italy.

@TillyTrifle we want to do a trip to zoo marine which will be about £200. Airport food and drinks for 6 is about £100 each way. Then we will probably want to go out a couple of times to explore and the kids always want to buy something.

Normally between £15k-£20K a year - thats with 4 'adults' though as once the DC are older you obviously pay adult prices and often have to have 2 rooms / bigger rental rather than all being in together. Thats usually enough for 2 weeks abroad in the summer, 1 week abroad at a half term and 2 long weekends in UK.

About £1500 this year.

That's for 3 nights with family in Filey, a night away for me and my partner in Northumberland and a night in London with a friend.

Pre-kids I would have been out of the UK, short haul and long alternating each year. Now I imagine that will be something we do every 3-4 years if we're lucky.

About £10k on 3 holidays. But that’s the booking, not the spends, airport parking etc. that’s 2 adults and one free child place.

Around 4.5K - week in the canaries, then Europe for Centre Parcs for a week and onto 3 nights at quite a pricey place. The overnight ferry to Europe has gone up in price significantly which has added a lot to this cost. I won’t pay those prices next year.
Planning to spend around 4K next year - 10 days in the canaries then 2 weeks in cottages in the UK.

We have a caravan on a seasonal pitch. It’s £3k per year and we have as many holidays as we want and every weekend.

Anything between 10-25k I suspect. Every year is different.
