To still be shocked by what I saw!!

I was on my weekly Saturday outing with DM. Checking my rear view mirror and I had to do a double take!! Car behind me, female driver with L plates on the car. Male front seat passenger had a little girl sat on his knee! She looked about 18 months old! Said to DM, just check I’m not seeing things!! Nope, I wasn’t! Pulled over and reported to 101, I honestly can’t believe there are people out there that stupid and reckless!

I guess the excuse is they cannot afford a car seat yet they can afford to learn to drive. Madness.

That's crazy. Even if the L plates weren't hers, it's obvious to anyone with a brain that a toddler shouldn't travel like that. Good for you for reporting it.

I once reported a car full of toddlers/young kids not in car seats or wearing seatbelts. So shocking to see.

Driving on the m25 I saw a boy aged about 10 in the back of a car, no seat belt, with a sitting baby on his lap. Just a lady in the front driving and talking on her phone. I was genuinely shocked (I’m very law abiding). I tried to report it but the police website needed the postcode and wouldn’t let me carry on without it. I’d no clue what the postcode was so gave up trying.

Unless I am mis reading the OP said it was a weekly trip not she went a week ago - presumably this happened today and therefore quite reasonable to be shocked.

I think you totally should have called 101 for this - I mean if there had been an accident that child would have gone straight through the windscreen - how is that not serious neglect?

Shocked? No, not really. Stupid people exist. I would think ‘wow, morons’ and then I’d get on with my day. I wouldn’t be writing a post about it or ring the police tho. It wouldn’t occur to me.
