Don't know if anyone here might be affected by this, but in the wake if the Post Office scandal it's yet another example of lack of institutional accountability and disproportionate official responses that decimate the lives of ordinary people.

It’s absolutely unbelievable that these carers and getting thrown to the wolves. They could put their loved one in care and let the state look after them and see how much more it would cost!

Fine. All carers are stupid, naive or scam artists.

I stand corrected.

I'll bow out too.

Good idea (ex carer)

I'm being overpaid carer's allowance, I can't get them to bloody stop paying me. I've recently started a new job, informed them several times of my new salary, nothing has been actioned. I'm putting the money to one side in anticipation of being asked to pay it back in one lump sum at some point in the future. I've acted in good faith but I'm not expecting the same.

It isn't a scandal - it's an individual case which isn't comparable to the Post Office scandal.

Scandal - an action or event regarded as morally or legally wrong and causing general public outrage.

I found it impossible to get it stopped as well. Took about 4 weeks and then I got a letter months later to tell me they're taking their stamp back as I wasn't entitled. A pal gave up trying and it took them a year to stop it.

Its surprisingly hard to get them to stop the claim.

Yep and then have SOME NHS workers moan and gripe about uncaring selfish families
