No no no no no. On the app, can't vote.

CanaryCanary · 09/04/2024 17:41

Why not? I think every biryani I’ve had included a few potatoes.

TheShellBeach · 09/04/2024 17:42

100% yes!!

Bring on the potatoes!

JMSA · 09/04/2024 17:43

Why not. Tatties are great!

RadoxMoon · 09/04/2024 17:44

I don’t think I’ve ever had potatoes in biryani but am prepared to try!

Samlewis96 · 09/04/2024 17:45

Don't see why not

Bushmillsbabe · 09/04/2024 17:46

Yes, in the vegetable curry which goes with the biryani

B1anche · 09/04/2024 17:47

No I hate potatoes in curries. They are just cheap tasteless fillers.

mynamechangemyrules · 09/04/2024 17:50

Love a potato in a curry but not in biryani 😂 sorry or not sorry depending on which outcome you want!

PossumintheHouse · 09/04/2024 17:52

Yes, as long as it's in the vegetable curry part and isn't being used to bulk it out.

NeverEnoughPants · 09/04/2024 17:56

Like others have said, in the veg curry - not in the rice.

NotARealWookiie · 09/04/2024 17:58

I love potato in everything so yes!

ohpumpkinseeds · 09/04/2024 17:59

100% in the curry part yes. Delicious.

CanaryCanary · 09/04/2024 17:59

Our local puts potatoes in the rice, they’re delicious as soak up lots of flavour.

ginasevern · 09/04/2024 18:00

Simple answer, no.

AgnesX · 09/04/2024 18:04

No, I had the worst biryani a couple of weeks ago and it was potato and lumps of cauli in it. It was also dry and tasteless.

More fool me for ordering during Ramadan.

conniecon · 09/04/2024 18:13

No as rice and potatoes is too carb heavy!

WeightoftheWorld · 09/04/2024 18:14

Yes. I could eat potatoes with everything though tbh love them!

If they are tasteless you/they are doing them wrong.

Westfacing · 09/04/2024 18:18

Yes to potatoes, if they're crunchy and brown having been on the bottom of the pot as it was cooking.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 09/04/2024 18:19

I never order biryani. I have a suspicion that it's something that uses up the leftover from the previous night, a bit like my post Christmas pies and sandwiches.

Bloatstoat · 09/04/2024 18:23

There are literally no foods that aren't improved by adding potatoes.

What a load of rubbish lol.

I agree with this!!

Also, controversial as it may be, I don’t really love rice so I’d prob be ordering all the potato based side dishes anyway🤣 And all the bread.

Yikes. There's a bit more to making a biriyani than that.
