AIBU to think this is not a very sensible idea?

Feels like the next thing will be lavender gin in a meths bottle. Engine gin

It’s not a sainsburys thing it’s just a brand… they have it everywhere.

RedToothBrush · 31/03/2024 20:46

It's been out for years.

The world has not ended.

KrisAkabusi · 31/03/2024 20:47

Why isn't it sensible? Are you expecting someone to pour it into their Vauxhall?

43ontherocksporfavor · 31/03/2024 20:47

Aldi had red wine in a plastic bottle this weekend. It was a flattened bottle too. Looked like olive oil. Just wrong.

Darhon · 31/03/2024 20:49

It’s a nice gin actually! It looks like a drinks can, not a can of engine oil

Bs0u416d · 31/03/2024 20:49

I think the pearl clutch is strong with this one.

Invisimamma · 31/03/2024 20:58

Never seen that one before but it's a very clever design. I love it!

mynameiscalypso · 31/03/2024 21:01

It was on special offer on Ocado just before Christmas. It's pretty nice gin.

Haha!.

LoveSandbanks · 31/03/2024 21:07

OMG, that stuff is lush. One of the few gins we've bought twice.

What's the problem with selling it in an oil can - you don't drink oil - its not like anyone is going to pick it up and neck it thinking its oil!

HomelessAngua · 31/03/2024 21:16

I love this gin,and keep the empty container in my classic car.

missmollygreen · 31/03/2024 21:17

Not very sensible?
What do you think is going to happen?

pootlin · 31/03/2024 23:34

Er, it’s not a real engine oil bottle.

Signed, a teetotal.

NatWestPigFamily · 31/03/2024 23:48

I don’t drink gin but would buy this for the can alone.

JackSpaniels · 31/03/2024 23:49

Much cheaper on Amazon

MissSingerbrains · 01/04/2024 00:00

It’s not really an oil can though, is it? I don’t see the problem.

HolidayBurden · 01/04/2024 00:54

You'll have a coronary when you see the cups Engine produce for it! It's very good gin, and a lesson in books and covers...
It stands out, their marketing works.

😂😂😂😂😂

penjil · 01/04/2024 01:22

Anyway, engine oil doesn't come in shiny metal cans like that anymore, it's not the 1950s!!

It comes in plastic bottles, usually gold, silver or blue coloured.

midlifepisces · 01/04/2024 01:33

🤣🤣🤣 it's a brand.

lol that you've started a a thread on this!

BigBurrata · 01/04/2024 01:38

very tacky, I agree

Netaporter · 01/04/2024 04:23

They also used to sell birthday cakes in the shape of a games console controller but I don’t think anyone tried to plug one in…😂

Nichebitch · 01/04/2024 08:33

Cans are much easier to recycle than bottles - it’s considered a more sustainable packaging, so they’re becoming more popular. I work in the drinks industry and I see this all the time

ASighMadeOfStone · 01/04/2024 08:48

@Queenoftheworld be careful not to use Moschino's Fresh perfume to clean your lav.

Waitingforgeorge · 01/04/2024 09:00

Does it taste good? That's what matters!
