Hands up: do you chuck rubbish out of your car window?

My city is having its annual big litter picking weekend. Hundred of volunteers clearing their local areas and placing full bags near bins for the council to collect. It's fabulous😊.

My "picking" area tends to be heavy traffic and it's clear most of the litter is food and drink related and thrown from car windows when drivers are waiting at traffic lights.

I am quite interested to know who does this and why (someone must!). It's not dropped by accident and there will surely be an easy to use bin when you leave your car? Posted for traffic and the mix of opinions.

I volunteer to pick up trash along the tow path and hope the same. I simply cannot fathom why people are so gross.

Never. I did put some rubbish back through a car window once, telling the driver I think he dropped this.

I honestly don't know why people do this.

I live in the countryside outside a town and I am forever stopping to lift whole bags of fast food litter that someone has just thrown out their window. They've clearly eaten in their car so it'll already smell so I don't get why they don't just get rid of it at home.

I just can’t believe people do this. I mean they clearly do but I don’t understand why or what goes through their heads.

Nah a mate did it once and I made him get out and walk home

I don't think anyone will admit to it but someone must do it! My in laws admitted to it once. They've, erm, never mentioned it again after the reception they got.

We live on a country lane and it gets chucked over the low fence onto our lawn! Makes me so angry, the scumbags!

Never! I've brought my daughter up to not do it either. However shes gone the other way... Her car is full of empty Pepsi max tins and rubbish 😵‍💫

I’m another who just doesn’t get why anyone would do it. I do throw the odd apple core into the hedgerow when I’m driving along a country lane though. But that’s a treat for a little animal!

I don’t throw anything from my car.

A friend of mine litter picks along a road near our village every single week and she normally gets three bin bags full of rubbish.
The road is not even a mile long so there must be an awful lot of disgusting people around.
