Had a crap day, got a bollocking for something I didn't deserve to be bollocked about first thing at work. Been weeping at my desk but feel a bit better now, can't wait to get home, run a bath, have said bathwater, watch Hairspray with my kittens and puppy in clean pjs ( dh has text that he has washed and dried my favourite ones as he's off this morning ) and I'm going to have a bar of galaxy with cheesy cottage pie for dinner. I nearly feel better just writing this! What's your rubbish day remedy? Not an aibu sorry just wanted the traffic for ideas!

Help me turn my day around please :)

Call a good friend? Sorry you've had a crap day! Enjoy your bath. Am picturing your pets in their clean pyjamas now Smile

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 22/03/2024 13:29

Normally a cuddle with one or both DC, scroll Instagram, fb while watching rhobh.

thaegumathteth · 22/03/2024 13:29

You have kittens and a puppy? That'd do it for me!

C1N1C · 22/03/2024 13:38

Maybe a weird one... for me it's a big bowl of porridge... brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, , maybe some jam.

That or fresh cookies :)

Row23 · 22/03/2024 13:41

I’d do everything you said as that all sounds perfect, but I’d and also send my friend a big voicenote just ranting about the day and getting it all off my chest.

RawBloomers · 22/03/2024 13:45

A long swim (providing I can find a pool with a virtually empty lane or one where the other swimmers magically swim at the same rate as me). Alternatively a 10 mile run.

LiarLiarKnickersAblaze · 22/03/2024 13:48

Scrolling through weird and wonderful properties on Airbnb

littlegrebe · 22/03/2024 13:48

Cheesy cottage pie sounds lovely, is it cheesy mash or cheese all the way through somehow?

I'm going to go to my allotment after work and turn my compost heap, not the most glamorous of activities but being outside doing something constructive with the birds birding and the gales wind on my face always sorts me out.

Benvolio · 22/03/2024 13:50

Read something totally gripping and new, or something old and familiar. Or watch.

Benvolio · 22/03/2024 13:51

Wear bed socks too

Hagbard · 22/03/2024 13:55

Put some music on that you enjoy singing along to. Then sing to the kittens and puppies

LumpyPumpkin · 22/03/2024 13:55

What you've got planned so far sounds great.

For me, I'd add a new book to read in bath/bed. Ooh, fresh bedding.

I'd also want breakfast stuff. Pastries, orange juice, overpriced yoghurt etc. Then I could go to bed knowing I have small treat to look forward to tomorrow too.

LostittoBostik · 22/03/2024 14:02

I have a hot shower and go to bed with a glass of wine and a book or my fancy earphone and a podcast. Either way I generally feel better once at home and in bed.

Sorry about your crap day.

Limth · 22/03/2024 14:03

This is quite specific but I'd see whether any of the lads at my boxing gym were free for half hour pad work.

It puts me in a completely mindset, totally detaches me from the world. It's not about punching out the frustration at all. Its about moving into that different mindset where nothing else (i.e. the work frustration) means absolutely nothing.

I come away feeling exhausted, really confident and, to be honest, it's a weirdly nice feeling that if I chose to I could lay out every single one of my colleagues without breaking a sweat😅Puts things in context

Okonimiyaki · 22/03/2024 14:05

I reread Watership Down. It never fails to give me courage and resolve.

Grumpynan · 22/03/2024 14:09

I’m having a shit day too, nothing particularly just one of those mornings.

little happier, eldest son messaged at lunch time, to see if I was free later, he’ll pop in after work and bring a Chinese 🥳.

the cynic in me makes me ask what he wants 🙄, no I’ll think positive and assume he’s just missing his old mum.

Notmollybutdolly · 22/03/2024 14:11

Love this thread!! Love a hot bath after a long day with a magazine and clean sheets and pjs. Simple.

Sylver75 · 22/03/2024 14:13

Crap day here too, crying at work. I just wanna go home and climb under the duvet and sleep or cry in peace without worrying anyone will notice and think I'm off my nut.

LunaNorth · 22/03/2024 14:30

Getting outside and doing a bit of gardening. It’s my therapy.

YouAndMeAndThem · 22/03/2024 14:32

Wine and crisps, and a good show on TV, with a blanket and no kids!!!!!

SameSameButDeliverance · 22/03/2024 14:34

Going to the gym and getting sweaty on the skier before slamming slam balls around. Then picking up heavy weights and putting them down again and then doing Farmer Carry’s with heavy kettlebells.

Then home, a hot bath with bubbles and magnesium salts. Cheese and biscuits for dinner whilst wearing clean pjs and enjoying a large glass of red wine or 3 in front of MAFSAU.

CactusMactus · 22/03/2024 16:05

Posh wine. Cheap crisps. Sofa.

Jasmin1971 · 22/03/2024 16:09

Gardening every time. Drive up the hill and feel the wind in my hair. Cat cuddles and 🍺

Jackierussell123 · 22/03/2024 16:29

I’d love to say a long walk and some mediating but no, a strong vodka and assorted snacks
