As long as the eggs aren't contaminated with salmonella you'll be fine

You'd have to take them to a lab to be tested to make sure.

I'd risk it. I only buy good quality eggs though.

AgentJohnson · 06/03/2024 11:46

I love cake mix but scraping the bowl is as much as I could eat at one setting.

CheapThrillsMeanNothing · 06/03/2024 11:46

@Ermmmmnowwhst
You should eat uncooked cake mixes containing flour.
Processing raw grains does not remove bacteria.

MadamVastra · 06/03/2024 11:46

The lion stamp is a sign that your eggs have been laid by hens vaccinated against salmonella.

is this the egg troll again?

They’re not asking you to eat it!

CheapThrillsMeanNothing · 06/03/2024 11:47

@Ermmmmnowwhst
You SHOULD NOT eat raw cake mixes because raw flour can still contain bacteria.

Gods sake, you're all arsey this morning aren't you.

RoomOfRequirement · 06/03/2024 11:49

YABU, you should make cake mix and eat it, it's better.

Idc about the minute risks from flour/egg/whatever else invented to take away some happiness. It's so good!

If you buy British eggs with the Red Lion mark, they are from chickens that are vaccinated against salmonella.

MadamVastra · 06/03/2024 11:50

@Megifer there was a thread about (of all things) putting an egg in porridge for a toddler - a poster kept banging on about eggs being VERY BAD

DontGiveADuck · 06/03/2024 11:50

Eating the cake mix is one of the best things about making a cake. My kids think it’s great.

Why does egg in porridge sound so bad when I happily enjoy 'porridge pancakes' made from oatmeal, milk and egg?

We have an egg troll now? 😀

OP I would make the mix to eat if you want to.

Now, now, no need to troll shame.

dizzydizzydizzy · 06/03/2024 11:54

I always used to ask DM to do this and the answer was always no. I expect it was because they won't keep long in their raw state.

stripes92 · 06/03/2024 11:54

The cake mix is much better than the cooked cake. Do it.

Bumblebeeinatree · 06/03/2024 11:57

I read somewhere that you need to sterilise the flour, you can just spread it on a tray and heat in the oven before using. Raw eggs should be fine in the UK these days, but, I wouldn't eat raw egg if pregnant even though they should be fine.

Ermmmmnowwhst · 06/03/2024 11:57

Interesting, I didn't know about the red lion mark! Will check
