Gods sake, you're all arsey this morning aren't you.

No-I was actually quite amused, but I’d suggest you’re the one being arsy with “gods sake”

Clarabellawilliamson · 06/03/2024 12:00

I think it's only so nice because it's a treat and there's not much of it. I don't think I could enjoy it as much if it was in a huge quantity!

When I was a child I told my mum that when I was a grown up and had my own house the first thing I would do is mix up a bowl of butter and sugar and eat the lot 😂

Gruffalotea · 06/03/2024 12:00

When I fancy this I make a brownie mug cake and then microwave for about half recommended time so it’s warm slightly set cake mix essentially and it is delightful.

WhatWouldJeevesDo · 06/03/2024 12:04

YABU. Surely the novelty would wear off after a couple of spoonfuls.
Why not make some sort of refrigerator cake instead?

Raw flour doesn't scare me

I had no idea that uncooked flour can be dangerous until recently, but easy enough to sterilise. Can be contaminated by bacteria and have been in contact with weevils. I would be more concerned about the flour than eggs. But I'm obviously not that bothered as I do usually try the cake batter before cooking, only a little bit though.

SmileyClare · 06/03/2024 12:05

The gooey brownie mug cake is a good suggestion.

Ploughing through an entire mixing bowl of mainly fat and sugar is likely to make you feel a bit sick if nothing else and pretty sluggish for the rest of the day.

Sorry to piss on your idea.

DontGiveADuck · 06/03/2024 12:07

Have you ever made a Malteser cake? It’s just pure indulgence. And won’t potentially give you food poisoning I guess.

Ermmmmnowwhst · 06/03/2024 12:09

Hmmmm, the half cooked idea is actually not bad at all. I have a betty crocker mix

Preheat the oven first. You won't be able to eat the whole lot (will you?) so eat your fill then bake the remainder.

PineapplePomPom · 06/03/2024 12:15

Egg Troll 🤣🤣🤣

Lauren0000 · 06/03/2024 12:23

Lion marked eggs are salmonella free, safe to eat undercooked, even in pregnancy I

rwalker · 06/03/2024 12:29

Yeah raw cakes mix used to go to my nans and she used to let me scrape and lick the bowl when she’d been making cakes

never forgave her for buying a silicon spatula that could literally take the pattern of the bowl it clean it that well

Ok I'll give you that one, I was already in a nark cos some other clever arse had made a snippy comment at my comment ten seconds before.
Good job nobody makes me eat it, I'd vomit on them 😁

TheChosenTwo · 06/03/2024 12:33

I don’t think I could manage more than a couple of scoops from the bowl but if you enjoy it crack on.
My friend and I used to make flapjack mix specifically to eat out of the saucepan hot, there was never any intention of cooking it. Flapjack tastes so much better before it’s baked!

Cheesecake base too!

YABU.
The absolute best star to "taste" brownie batter is the melted chocolate and butter. No point diluting that loveliness with sugar and egg and flour.

Although at least op is adding some protein and complex carbs into her lunch by adding eggs and flour.

It’s important to have a balanced diet 😬

Oh wow, you're filthy! What a fabulous idea, enjoy! I hope you don't need to answer the door with rogue cake mix on your face

When I first moved out of home I'd often whip up a batch of cake mix at the weekend and scoff the whole lot Grin

Where are you on raw cake mix? Is it just raw brownies(not appealing to me) or all raw cake (which I love)😉

Ponderingwindow · 06/03/2024 13:16

I did this once, it was glorious.

superplumb · 06/03/2024 13:43

I make slightly extra so I still make them but have enough to eat raw. Good quality eggs. Never did me any harm. Bloody low raw cake mixture esp brownies.

Ugh it's all the same. I just can't! My stomach just turns. I remember making cakes with my Nan and my sister being so excited for licking the spoons and the bowl and I would be going green..... blugh!

Raw flour can contain E-coli and Salmonella
