Anyone else really dislike being bought Flowers?

I sound like an absolute brat but I just know DH will gift Me a huge Bunch of something for Valentine's Day, but they just stress me out so much! Getting them out of the ton of Paper / plastic, trimming them, finding a suitable vase, arranging them, finding somewhere to put them.. argh!

I love getting flowers. My exH used to make a big performance of not buying me flowers because they were apparently a waste of money that he could spend on booze instead and I would be suspicious that he had been up to something.

The current Mr Pony buys me flowers most weeks. He is a good egg.

Hate getting them

I don't like them.

I like flowers in gardens and nature, but it's so weird to me that when someone dies you buy them a bunch of things that they can sit and... watch die. Flowers belong outside in soil and trees in my opinion! Never mind the whole 'where's a vase/what are you supposed to put in the water again' hassle you get with flowers.

DH knows this so doesn't buy me any and if it comes up in conversation I tell people and they never buy me them again. So it's rare I ever get any now but if I do, I just say thank you and wait for them to die...

I've never been terribly keen, I have to admit.

Yanbu I told dh to not buy me flowers. I feel they are more work and effort than any joy they bring. I would rather have something longer lasting and something I can use.

Me.. most are toxic to cats to some degree and it's schlapping the vase to the tap everyday till they die.. thanks but no thanks!

My family and friends know never to buy me flowers. Terrible for the environment, terrible waste of money and grown by slave labour without PPE in many cases.

Yeah I hate receiving them for so many reasons.

You need orchids - last forever without watering, or Mother in Law's Tongue - a desert plant in the wild so again last forever on no water.
