Started April last year
Developed a health condition we are still trying to diagnose basically vitamin not being absorbed, bones hurt, tired, joint pain, twisted joints. Partner had a heart attack during dr strikes didn't get full treatment this was rectified Friday.
Car died
I am learning to drive but couldn't get test till April this year and shouldn't be cos codeine for pain
I got then to extend probation as couldn't drive in Oct
New hr manager wants me to go in Tuesday for a meeting won't say why.

I'm tired, feel crap and want self cert Mon and tue as I am off rest of week for more tests.

Should I suck it up like I have been or call in..
Unreasonable go in stop being a baby.

it doesn’t sound like this is the job for you OP

theeyeshaveit82 · 11/02/2024 11:44

since april last year

how much time off have you had?

are you still on probation?

and if you self cert again…. i think the entire issue will be dead in the water anyway

theeyeshaveit82 · 11/02/2024 11:45

s I am off rest of week for more tests.

what tests?

Yet more blood tests
Some auto immune anemia, malabsorbtion and cancer

Why do you think they may sack you? That seems a bit of a stretch if you haven't been calling in sick regularly before?

theeyeshaveit82 · 11/02/2024 11:47

Drowningnotwaving74 · 11/02/2024 11:46

Some auto immune anemia, malabsorbtion and cancer

so… you go in, they take your blood and then it’s sent off

that is the sum total

so why are you off for a week?

Drowningnotwaving74 · 11/02/2024 11:45

according to the thread you started in december re whether you should call in sick… you have had time off

theeyeshaveit82 · 11/02/2024 11:49

is driving fundamental to you job?

olympicsrock · 11/02/2024 11:50

You book an appointment for bloods at 8:30 or 5:00 and miss no more than an hour at the beginning or end of the day for blood tests surely???
Why would you need the rest of the week off?

i’m curious…

also why probation has to be extended because couldn’t drive in october (and what this meant for employer!)

Drowningnotwaving74 · 11/02/2024 11:52

I asked here

Didn't take it

Nope it's supposed.to.be regional and I can get.places fine plus currently it's documentation they need.

Because I booked it as holiday -.before I knew I was going back for.tests.

Thehamsterthatcametotea · 11/02/2024 11:53

If you haven’t had time off why would you think that you might be sacked?

theeyeshaveit82 · 11/02/2024 11:53

why did you say that probation extended because you couldn’t drive in october?

what was the impact on your work of you not driving?

FuckingHellAdele · 11/02/2024 11:54

Then they're not going to sack you for 2 days self cert and a few days of annual leave.

Shiningout · 11/02/2024 11:54

I have a weekly treatment at the hospital but I book it for 9am and then go straight back to work and make the time up by starting work at 7.30 and working for an hour then at home. I think you're taking the piss a bit if you're off all week for some blood tests which will take about ten mins.

theeyeshaveit82 · 11/02/2024 11:54

so when you knew it was for tests
you cancelled your annual leave
and now taking three sick days off for… a blood test?

FuckingHellAdele · 11/02/2024 11:54

there’s going to be a lot more to this than we’re being told!

Drowningnotwaving74 · 11/02/2024 11:55

There is no impact.on work

I have an additional area,.but regional.= driver in people's.heads.

Possibly because I am feeling so bloody crap and currently having to tell.them.things they don't want to hear

OP posts:
Drowningnotwaving74 · 11/02/2024 11:56

No
I haven't cancelled.my AL
Sometimes.tjis.place is great other times it really isn't lol

OP posts:
theeyeshaveit82 · 11/02/2024 11:59

and the no driving in october - how did that impact your employer?

NextPrimeMinister · 11/02/2024 12:00

If your job includes a regional area than being able to drive does not sound like 'it's in peoples heads'.

Was passing your driving test an expectation of the job offer and why your probation was extended in Oct?

I think more detail and clarity is required otherwise you won't get many supportive replies.

theeyeshaveit82 · 11/02/2024 12:00

so if NO impact on work

why did you ask for your probation to be extended because you couldn’t drive in october?!

theeyeshaveit82 · 11/02/2024 12:02

You start a thread about you being called to an HR meeting (and you’re considering a couple of sickies in order to dodge said meeting - which is sort of telling in itself)

We probe about a bit about all the detail you have provided

Turns out you think you are employee of the year!

ThirtyThrillionThreeTrees · 11/02/2024 12:04

This is impossible to understand.

I hope you are more articulate in your HR.

If you want help, you gave to post the full situation.
