Started April last year
Developed a health condition we are still trying to diagnose basically vitamin not being absorbed, bones hurt, tired, joint pain, twisted joints. Partner had a heart attack during dr strikes didn't get full treatment this was rectified Friday.
Car died
I am learning to drive but couldn't get test till April this year and shouldn't be cos codeine for pain
I got then to extend probation as couldn't drive in Oct
New hr manager wants me to go in Tuesday for a meeting won't say why.

I'm tired, feel crap and want self cert Mon and tue as I am off rest of week for more tests.

Should I suck it up like I have been or call in..
Unreasonable go in stop being a baby.
Reasonable call in if they sack you they sack you

What is your problem? Hungover. Hangry?
I asked them to extend so I had flexibility as changes were coming and they are badly managed.

I suggested the driving as a reason,I have also suggested occupational health as support but as I haven't been off they won't.

No, I am asking because cannot cope, we don't know what's wrong with me,I am in constant pain can't walk very far, tired to the point i pass out, partner on heart attack 2 2nd in 3 months

I give up. I'm neither hungover nor hangry but thanks for your concern.

People cannot help you as you aren't giving them enough details to.

PegasusReturns · 11/02/2024 12:23

OP I’m afraid your post makes very little sense.

as I understand it:

• you’ve been employed since April
• your probation was extended in October, at your request?
• you are unwell but have taken no time off sick
• you need three days off next week for blood tests
• HR want to see you next week and you anticipate being fired

can you explain the relevance of not driving? Is a driving license a requirement of the job?

why would you request probation extended?

FuckingHellAdele · 11/02/2024 12:23

@Drowningnotwaving74 is it the HR meeting that's thrown you into a bit of a tailspin (along with feeling like crap).

If it is, for me I think I would take a deep breath, work Mon and Tue and get the meeting done. Hopefully it's nothing serious and you can then rest up as much as possible on your annual leave days.

I say that, because having an unknown meeting hanging over me would stress me out more than any actual work, but that might just be me.

Drowningnotwaving74 · 11/02/2024 12:24

Well I am if you don't want war and peace with a lot of very outing information.

I am at breaking point. I was here in December and struggled on
I have recently had to deliver a lot of very hard messages
There are a lot of politics, it's a very male dominated environment so a lot of dick swinging and the responses to my aibu have been

Why do you need a week off for tests, I go straight back.

You must have been off as you thought about it before

Clearly your lieing

Thank you, yes it is. It came on the same day as partners heart attack number 3. My hair is coming out in clumps and we are no further forward in finding out what's up with me.

No
I haven't cancelled.my AL
Sometimes.tjis.place is great other times it really isn't lol

Perhaps if you wrote a post that made sense, you would find this place better?
The fact you are having a blood test during your 3 days off is irrelevant, so should not have been mentioned as its just caused confusion and led people to believe you have taken 3 days off to attend a blood test

Yes I should have said Al for the 3 days.

The tests are relevant because they show I am still struggling to sort my health out but I should have made it clear they were in my time not works

But we all know sometimes it's brutal on here

Well you've chosen to post on aibu probably knowing the type of responses you may get, and you didnt provide clear information for posters to be able to respond to

Drowningnotwaving74 · 11/02/2024 12:52

I was expecting to be told to suck it up
Not that I am lieing
Workshy lol etc

It's also not always brutal sometimes you get viewpoints that maybe uncomfortable but are valid

Honestly in your shoes OP I would take 2 days off sick then enjoy the week if you can. It sounds like you need some rest

Overthebow · 11/02/2024 13:01

Why don’t you take the Monday off sick to get some rest and then go in for the meeting on Tuesday? It doesn’t have to be all or nothing.

I don't know just panic following the hell that was Friday I think.

The fact he won't tell me why they want to see me see made me paranoid I think

What happened on Friday OP?

What happened on Friday OP?

Partner had a heart attack Sept
Had a nightmare getting the angioplasty completed as he still had symptoms rehab nurse requested urgent appointment with cardiologist in Dec, they discharged him.
He needs another op for something else, they contacted big cardiologist (bosses boss basically) he got rushed in for an emergency one Friday and had another heart attack during.

I continued to work, lots of politics because there are big change's and eople are unsettled. I'd normally be picking stuff up over the weekend but really haven't the energy.

So not work related but bloody stressful

OP posts:
Fallenangelofthenorth · 11/02/2024 14:29

Do HR know about your personal issues? Could they be wanting to offer assistance with tĥat? If you haven't had time off, and haven't done anything wrong, isn't it more likely to be that?

Drowningnotwaving74 · 11/02/2024 14:34

They do

Been very open and honest with what's going on incase I need to hand stuff over. They didn't know about Friday though because it was quick and we didn't know until Friday. It also didn't affect work I carried on, I have fallen behind as I haven't done any this weekend which I would usually do.
Possible, I work in risk sometimes I can look to far down the dark path I think.

OP posts:
Fallenangelofthenorth · 11/02/2024 14:41

You shouldn't be working every weekend as standard. I'd just go to the HR meeting. Worrying all weekend isn't going to change anything. Do you think you might need some help with your anxiety? I overthink things too, and can quite easily work myself into a panic, but since I've started taking propranolol I couldn't really give a shit about anything. Probably not ideal, but so much better than panicking all the time!

Think I'm panic ratting because of the amount going on.

I suggested the driving as a reason,

but if it had zero impact on your job

  1. why mention it in your op
  2. why do you think it might be a “reason” they want to meet
theeyeshaveit82 · 11/02/2024 16:16

What is your problem?

Well i can tell you that it’s not an HR meeting tomorrow about what i suspect to be a negative one despite not having done single thing wrong (supposedly)

theeyeshaveit82 · 11/02/2024 16:18

most of us would be worried tbh

really unfair to tell you this on a friday though!
