Is closer to red flags than it is to child safeguarding?

Eh?

vodkaredbullgirl · 10/02/2024 23:26

😕

LizFromMotherland · 10/02/2024 23:26

Well I think boiled eggs are runny but without context this post is just as pointless, don't you think?

Shf · 10/02/2024 23:27

Umm… context?

Jellycats4life · 10/02/2024 23:27

You mean the NSPCC advert?

I actually found the poem incredibly moving

TheShellBeach · 10/02/2024 23:28

What does this mean?

TheShellBeach · 10/02/2024 23:28

What does this mean?

It could mean the OP's out of tonic water?

vodkaredbullgirl · 10/02/2024 23:29

😅

QueefofSheena · 10/02/2024 23:31

Is this another perv thread? MN is crawling with them at the moment

TeabySea · 10/02/2024 23:32

In what way?

BlankTimes · 10/02/2024 23:32

It's an NSPCC advert about parenting.

PutMyFootIn · 10/02/2024 23:37

Typical NSPCC

Millions spent on crass adverts and still as much child abuse as ever.

LittleGreenDragons · 10/02/2024 23:38

First blood in your knickers
First clown’s face of makeup

written by Darren Smith, Chief Creative Officer at House of Oddities.

Okay then. Nothing about a boy's "rite of passage".

BlankTimes · 10/02/2024 23:32

Oh right thanks, you'd think the OP might've linked to it given that they went to the trouble of starting a thread.

Still, there's nothing wrong with the advert so they might or might not want to explain what on earth they mean by 'red flags'?

Terfosaurus · 10/02/2024 23:42

I'm a. Mum of boys so that particular sentence isn't relevant to me.

But other than that I think it's a lovely poem. Really moving.

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 10/02/2024 23:45

I find it moving too. Especially as I’m approaching that stage :(

Bythefireside · 10/02/2024 23:47

Made me cry

olympicsrock · 10/02/2024 23:54

I thought it was a moving poem. Nothing wrong with the ad . YABU

Clearly it's some god awful marketing companies attempt to grab attention. Fucking ignore them, this is what they want.

Pinkfluffypencilcase · 10/02/2024 23:58

It’s a parenting ad isn’t it? Rather than safeguarding.

Yes this.

I was trying to post the link, so thank you to those above that did.

I can not see how this is appropriate at all.

You would think so wouldn't you. But no. This is an advert from the national body that is meant to protect children.

The fact you jumped to pervert is everything I thought about this advert.

FelicityBeedle · 11/02/2024 00:20

Nowt pervy about it, it’s a pair of knickers with blood in, not like they’re showing a four year old in a thong. Just something that happens for thousands of young kids each week and is presumably quite a significant moment for a parent as their child is getting older

It's a poem about many of the things parents struggle with and worry about. I don't see what is inappropriate about it.

Josette77 · 11/02/2024 01:33

Aw, that made me cry. 😭 So beautiful.
