So I placed an order of over £100 for a item of clothing and an accessory on the 24th January.

Absolutely no communication from them until today when Royal Mail claimed that there was an attempt at delivery but no one opened the door….but I was at home the whole day and I don’t think there was an attempt at all.

I live in a flat so went all the way dowstairs to check the buzzer and it is working. Later in the day I received delivery from Amazon so it is definitely nothing wrong with my buzzer.

I planned to wear the items purchased tomorrow but now apparently there will be another delivery attempt on a next working day, which will be Monday even though the Post Office and Royal Mail work on Saturday mornings.

AIBU to think that 9 days is plenty enough time to have items shipped? I’m in Lobdon too and they have shops here. Please do not reply saying that I should have phisically gone to one of their stores if I wanted the items quickly. I’m not talking about next day delivery.

Firstly how do you know Royal Mail attempted delivery. There is a scam email going around that says this.

SleepingBeautySnores · 02/02/2024 18:02

I have had so many parcels delivered of late where the only reason we knew they'd been delivered was because we have a 'Ring' doorbell. Most of them barely even tap the door, let alone give you time to get to answer it, so I'm afraid I'm not at all surprised, and in your shoes would be cancelling the order, telling them that it's too late. It's not down to you to ensure the delivery takes place OP, it's down to the delivery company to ensure that you receive it, by knocking your door, and passing it to you. All this photograph and then run, is totally unacceptable in my opinion, but most people can't be bothered to complain to the company they're buying from, so they don't do anything about the delivery companies they use.

HamHand · 02/02/2024 18:02

Do they ship from the UK? Can you not go to the collections office in the morning and get it?

Goblinmodeactivated · 02/02/2024 18:04

its a long time but if its in line with the delivery info on their website (which it looks like it is just about) then they’ve managed expectations accordingly …

Seems silly when they’ve got nearby stores but typically online orders would not be fulfilled from stores, they will be fulfilled from a distribution centre elsewhere in U.K./Europe.

SuperPug · 02/02/2024 18:07

Their delivery times aren’t good. They seem to have expanded without having the logistics in place to offer express delivery.
Definitely don’t order to store - my delivery never reached the store and I asked for a full refund.

RaininSummer · 02/02/2024 18:08

I would blame royal mail as they often don't ring the bell with parcels but stick a card through. I think they don't bother lugging the parcels about and just make us come to collect them.

Royal Mail sent me an email then Sèzane sent one too:

RM:
We tried to deliver your parcel from Seven Senders Unified* today, Friday, 2 February 2024.
Sorry, there didn’t seem to be anyone in. We’ll automatically reattempt delivery of your parcel the next working day unless you’ve already made an alternate delivery request. Either way, you don’t need to do anything.

S:
Following your recent order xxxxx, we have noticed that there has been a slight delivery delay, so we have contacted the carrier to ensure that your order reaches you as quickly as possible.
We sincerely apologize for the delay and any inconvenience caused.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at bonjour blahblahblah

*Seven Senders Unified? Do they use this business name? All my other orders arrived already so Sèzane is the only one pending.

I literally just received Oliver Bonas via Evri.

Only if they were willing to refund me in full plus some and I can keep the order nevertheless.

I'm sorry you do sound very unreasonable. I sell online and sometimes delays just cant be helped. By all means send it back but expecting to keep it and also get your money back (and then some?!) is ridiculous.

bumtrumpet · 02/02/2024 18:24

Surely they'll deliver it tomorrow. That's a working day for Royal Mail

bumtrumpet · 02/02/2024 18:25

You want to keep the item and get a refund (and then some). You sound like a CF!

Why are you mad at them rather than Royal Mail? How is it the fault of the company? Confused

You want the items, a full refund and compensation for going to collect something from the delivery office?!

Namechange1345677 · 02/02/2024 18:27

This is a royal mail problem....yabu

Of course this would never happen…but I do wonder which customer would refuse?

The AIBU question is not about this post here.

I paid £8 for delivery.
A 9 day delivery and it not being delivered when I’m at home is not good enough. Although Royal Mail is also at fault, I think they took way too long to process the order.

There is no collection arranged. But yeah who wouldn’t?

You surely are angry and well nothing is going to make you see reason but what is there delivery time scale at the moment. I just made a purchase and standard delivery is showing as 7 working days but has a disclaimer to allow longer as it is a busy period. You wanting a refund and keep items is not reasonable. If it is within the delivery time nothing should be expected if it is outside of he time a postage refund would be reasonable- nothing more. or simply return for a refund. Royal mail have quota to hit. My business is closed on a weekend but tracking shows customer it has been returns on Saturday what happens is RM scan as delivered and return to me on a Monday

Notcontent · 02/02/2024 18:35

I think you are being completely unreasonable. Lots of brands don’t ship straight away. Maybe they don’t have an army of slave labour like Amazon do, which is a good thing.

MeinKraft · 02/02/2024 18:35

Royal Mail will attempt to deliver again tomorrow I'm sure. Listen carefully for the door this time.

riotlady · 02/02/2024 18:36

It says on their website that “the preparation time for an order may vary between 3 and 7 working days”. It’s been 7 working days and clearly it has been prepared and shipped as Royal Mail are “trying” to deliver it. Sezane have posted it within the stated time frame, the postman not properly knocking (our old one used to do that, really annoying) isn’t really anything to do with them. So I’m not sure what you could complain about or what you would get other than a vague apology

Yes because I only listened carefully when Amazon and Oliver Bonas rand the bell but not Sèzane/Royal Mail… must have been the buzzer’s french accent😓
What a stupid and spiteful comment

You are right, I probably overlook the calculation or didn’t allow for mistakes but after paying £8 for delivery and staying in the whole day and receiving other parcels, this is so disappointing.
