Email complaint to Sèzane

So I placed an order of over £100 for a item of clothing and an accessory on the 24th January.

Absolutely no communication from them until today when Royal Mail claimed that there was an attempt at delivery but no one opened the door….but I was at home the whole day and I don’t think there was an attempt at all.

I live in a flat so went all the way dowstairs to check the buzzer and it is working. Later in the day I received delivery from Amazon so it is definitely nothing wrong with my buzzer.

I planned to wear the items purchased tomorrow but now apparently there will be another delivery attempt on a next working day, which will be Monday even though the Post Office and Royal Mail work on Saturday mornings.

AIBU to think that 9 days is plenty enough time to have items shipped? I’m in Lobdon too and they have shops here. Please do not reply saying that I should have phisically gone to one of their stores if I wanted the items quickly. I’m not talking about next day delivery.

Perfectly reasonable to ask for a refund of the £8 delivery charge if it hasn’t been received within the stated time frame (though good luck getting any help from Sezane’s customer services department!) but why on earth should they refund your whole order and let you keep it?! 🤣

jasminegamine · 02/02/2024 19:01

I don’t understand how some people seem not able to reply to the main post but then give opnion on a post within the post which is clearly not only unreasonable on purpose but also impossible to happen.

And as if anyone would actually refuse a refund and keeping the items too given a chance😒

I mean, you said it

Maybe you can just wear that giant chip on your shoulder to the event instead.

😂

Anonymouslyposting · 02/02/2024 19:33

Yeah, obviously YABU - I have ordered from Sezane many times (I’m actually waiting for an order from them now). Their delivery times are longer than average which is annoying, but as others have pointed out the fact that it’s a long delivery window is stated on the website - if you didn’t check it then it’s your problem.

If Royal Mail have failed to knock/ring loudly enough then that’s very irritating, but it’s royal Mail’s fault, not Sezane’s.

littleteapot86 · 02/02/2024 20:00

Weirdly I've had the same thing today with Royal Mail /Sezane. I've ordered from Sezane loads of times before without issue but today apparently Royal Mail tried to deliver tonight and we weren't home (except we were). 🤷‍♀️

MeinKraft · 02/02/2024 20:19

'Yes because I only listened carefully when Amazon and Oliver Bonas rand the bell but not Sèzane/Royal Mail… must have been the buzzer’s french accent😓
What a stupid and spiteful comment'

Ooh la la, can't think why the postman doesn't want to knock on your door!

carbon60 · 02/02/2024 22:03

You are the C.F.

Hope yours turn up tomorrow.

Luckily I love one of the outfits ordered from Oliver Bonas and will wear that tomorrow although I could really do with the accessory from Sèzane...
and I'm not even sure the Sèzane outfit will suit me anyway

How are returns, do you know? I m might have to go in store for that.

Firstly how do you know Royal Mail attempted delivery. There is a scam email going around that says this.

I second this. If it was a text then I question it.

AGoingConcern · 02/02/2024 22:24

jasminegamine · 02/02/2024 18:14

Only if they were willing to refund me in full plus some and I can keep the order nevertheless.

Now you're just taking the piss 🙄

OP You are very unreasonable. You ordered late and didn't have a back up.
You have to assume there could be a problem with delivery or even sizing etc when buying online.

You can't expect the company to reimburse you while you keep the goods - it's £100 +. How utterly ridiculous!
If you do not need the item anymore due to late arrival, return it and get a refund. I have returned items which arrived late before, it's never an issue.

Better yet, if you really want the order take a walk to your sorting office in the morning and get the package yourself.

Even when I click on the Sèzane order tracking link and it takes me to the Royal Mail page showing 'delivery attempt'? Scan too?

FFS people are you all illiterate?
This was never an option on the OP, what is wrong with the majority of you?
Or you just come on threads to pick?
This was never on the OP and obviously is something that would never ever happen? Well, not for mortals like me anyway. Of course it is ridiculous - so much so that I'm surprised you all taking this suggestion seriously.
In fact this suggestion is as ridiculous as the suggestion that I should spend my Saturday going to some sorting office god knows where to collect something that I paid £8 to be delivered to my doos step.

I have other clothes in my wardrobe, it is not the end of the world. But I still doubt Sèzane processed quick enough and obviously RM is at fault.

To the ones suggesting I didn't hear the bell or the doo properly...I have no words.

Btw their Archives sale is still on - unfortunately it sounds like you placed your order around the same time it started. Their orders always take longer during these sale times - they even mention this on the website. My latest order arrived today (London) - it took a lot longer than normal to arrive and I received the same apology email from the company as you so it sounds like it's a common issue affecting all orders in the region. Yeah it sucks that you probably won't receive the items in time for your event but hey it's not the end of the world and chances are you might not even like some of the items. Their returns process is super easy btw and I've never encountered a single issue in all the years I've shopped with them.

It’s annoying but it’s within their standard delivery times so I don’t think you have any grounds to complain.

Royal Mail has gone shit recently. They don’t seem to really even attempt to deliver anymore and simply claim they did, so I suspect they never even walked up the path to your front door!

It looks like mine being reattempted on Monday too. Returns are easy enough. There should be a royal mail label in the box. I can't go to a sézane store as I'm in Scotland.

Sausage77 · 03/02/2024 08:02

CheeseSandwichRiskAssessment · 03/02/2024 08:26

Is it normal to be so agressive about this kind of thing ? Anyways, thanks for this thread everyone, I didn't know there was a Sézanne shop in London so will pay a cheeky visit.

🤣🤣🤣 as if!
Also £8 delivery? is coming wrapped in cashmere? £3.95 is standard

Anonymouslyposting · 03/02/2024 08:33

I’ve returned a few things using the label in the delivery box, never had a problem.
