Storm is just starting and the rain is on. Thought I would nip out and get a paper before it gets worse. Our little block of shops had limited parking and I can't walk far at the moment with a bad hip so when I saw that there was only the disabled bay free I parked.Getting the paper involves lifting paper,leaving coupon and exit in less than a minute.
Back at the car a friend I haven't seen for ages stopped me and pointed at the car.At first I didn't know what she was getting at but then she asked me was I in the disabled bay.Then she asked me had I a blue badge and when I looked at her she mumbled and moved on.
I can't believe the actual cheek of her and I'm sorry I didn't say something.
No one else was about.No other cars trying to park.

Well do you have a blue badge? And were you displaying it

Is it an enforceable bay with a sign or is it a white advisory bay?

No,I'm riled up! I should have asked her was she a traffic warden. Jobsworth.The whole stop lasted less than a minute in pouring rain. Sometimes we need to use common sense in life.

If you don’t have a blue badge then I’m sorry, you shouldn’t have parked there. The number of times I’ve not been able to park with a blue badge in a space taken by someone for “ just a minute”

It's not common sense. If you don't have a blue badge, the disabled bay is not for you.

My son has a blue badge, and I'm so fed up of people parking in his disabled bay by our house when they're not entitled to, because it's "just for a minute", they "didn't realise" or some other equally pathetic excuse.
