The cheek of it!

Storm is just starting and the rain is on. Thought I would nip out and get a paper before it gets worse. Our little block of shops had limited parking and I can't walk far at the moment with a bad hip so when I saw that there was only the disabled bay free I parked.Getting the paper involves lifting paper, leaving coupon and exit in less than a minute.
Back at the car a friend I haven't seen for ages stopped me and pointed at the car.At first I didn't know what she was getting at but then she asked me was I in the disabled bay. Then she asked me had I a blue badge and when I looked at her she mumbled and moved on.
I can't believe the actual cheek of her and I'm sorry I didn't say something.
No one else was about. No other cars trying to park.

What - do you have a blue badge? If not YABVVVVU and bravo to your friend for pulling you on illegal and selfish parking.

Storm is just starting and the rain is on.

The only snippet of the OP that rings true.

Since you haven't answerd another poster's question, I gather you aren't actually disabled and do not have a blue badge. And you've started a thread about "the cheek" of your friend?! Taking the ONE place a disabled person can safely park is not 'using your common sense', it's behaving, at best, in an ignorant and thoughtless manner, and at worst, in a completely selfish, entitled way.

It is annoying that you used a disabled bay without displaying a blue badge but probably no worse than the CFs that use Parent and child spaces with no child in sight!! I've seen people pull a child seat out of the boot so they could park where they shouldn't!!
I get that you are struggling OP but still...........

Actually a lot worse.

Having a child isn't remotely the same

I've got my bingo card out for this thread

Yeah right... perfect MN baiting material.

BananasInThreePieceSuits · 21/01/2024 11:54

YABVU. If you don’t have a blue badge then you have no right to park there, regardless of how long you would be or whether or not you “have a bad hip”.

You were the cheeky fucker, not your friend.

’Using common sense’ means leaving blue badge spaces for people with blue badges. You haven’t said whether you have one.

Astonishing that you have the nerve to be riled rather than embarrassed if you don’t have a blue badge.
