AIBU to think its a little cheeky?

I dont make any comments about anybodys appearance.

What exactly are "mum boobs" anyway?!

Does he have a "dad bod"? 😂

Christmastreestillinonepiece · 01/01/2024 20:29

They won't hang lower than his balls in time...

Have you recently had a baby that you're breastfeeding? If so, I think it's an incredibly fumbled not thought out comment that was meant as a joke. If not, then what the actual fuck? I'd be telling him he should count himself lucky he saw them and won't be seeing them again for a while.

Melonandfalafel · 01/01/2024 20:57

My husband and I sometimes tease each other about aging but I think it is a horrible comment. I’d have been upset by it.

Nope not a new mum, my DS is almost 7 so don't really know where the comment came from as we weren't even speaking about it.

I wasnt feeling well so I was wearing standard mums knickers and wasnt looking great 😂

Why would you be with someone who is openly disgusted by your figure and has the nerve to insult you to your face?

I didnt think much of it at that exact time as I was rushing to get home but thought back on it since I thought back on it and thought it wasnt really needed?

It was a mean comment.

TroglodytesTroglodytes · 01/01/2024 21:08

As far as I know ‘mum boobs’ isn’t a phrase like ‘mum tum’ or ‘dad nod’. He sounds really horrible, suggesting that your boobs are sagging.

CaineRaine · 01/01/2024 21:11

I’d have assumed it was a joke that fell flat about your boobs not being as perky as they were pre-children. Hopefully it’s not an indication of how he normally is as it’s very unkind.

PorpoiseWithPurpose · 01/01/2024 21:16

Point at his dick tomorrow morn and announce, “there’s the disappointing, work shy cock”

Ooh yes - do this.

Itslegitimatesalvage · 01/01/2024 21:20

Oh God, I matched with a guy on Bumble and we chatted for a couple of days before arranging to meet for coffee. Before we met, he complimented the dress I had on in my WhatsApp profile photo, and said, “Oh man, and you’ll have mum boobs too. I don’t think I’d be able to have sex with someone who isn’t a mum anymore, they’re the best.” Omg. Yuck yuck yuck!! Never felt my skin crawl more! Aaah!

Pumpkintopf · 01/01/2024 21:22

Ask him what he meant by it?

He wouldnt have known me pre children.

Thinking he might have been annoyed as he was snoring like a train so I had taken myself off to sleep on the sofa for the night, and then he said he wanted the rest of the day to himself rather than go for a walk with me.

May be something for me to monitor in case he says things like this in anger etc as I wont be putting up with that.

Ive already divorced an angry husband in the past.

Mate, you shouldn't put up with it at all, whether in anger or not. The guy insulted your body while you were getting dressed to leave his house after he'd as good as thrown you out the morning after. Couldn't even be arsed to spend some time with you. When you've had a bad relationship it can skew your sense of whats acceptable. I think that's happening here. This one is not a good one.

Tinkleberryz · 01/01/2024 21:44

It’s a really shitty comment op

oneflewoverthe · 01/01/2024 21:47

Nasty comment. I expect the comments will increase and worsen in time. He's testing the waters. In the bin with him!

ellie09 · 01/01/2024 22:19

See, it is rather rich to come out with comments like that when you are rather overweight and no portrait yourself which I find odd!

He is usually very complimentary and affectionate

VampireWeekday · 01/01/2024 22:31

Easy for me to say but I hoenstly think this comment would be a deal breaker. Either he said it in a sexy way (in which case, ewwww) or he's trying to make you feel lesser about your body. I'd find it hard to forgive. The implication is that your body exists for male gratification, and other uses of it like nourishing your child is a damaging deviation that makes your breasts "mum boobs".

Poorlymumma · 01/01/2024 22:52

It sounds like it could have either been an insult or he could have been admiring your breasts, depending on how it was said.
I wouldn't be happy if he meant it as an insult.

Mammillaria · 01/01/2024 23:20

Sounds like it might have been meant as a passive-aggressive insult :(

Delassalle · 01/01/2024 23:23

The fact he hasn't had a child with you, your child is six and presumably not breastfeeding, to refer to your breasts as 'mum boobs' sounds more like he's interested in 'Bitty!'

What even are mum boobs? Other than those that are currently lactating?

itsmylife7 · 01/01/2024 23:25

He's insinuating your boobs are 'saggy'

Cheeky fucker.
