Spooky thread alert

I am a grown up woman and my mother passed away recently.
I was very very sick last week and feeling a bit sorry for myself as thinking nobody really cares if I am not well apart from DH who’s been fantastic. In laws are not very demonstrative but to be fair don’t expect anyone to look after them either and when sick they tend to disappear. My own siblings tend to contact me when they need something but not very good if I need the support.

Anyways I survived and I am getting better every day. Now the spooky bit.

i went for a nap this afternoon as I felt exhausted and then I woke up with a bolt as I had something planned. I overslept so I sat up right quickly and opened and closed my eyes in the room that was dark but not too dark as it was 4 pm. Oh well I swear I saw my mum sitting up in bed all bathed in purple light. It was her alive and chatting like keeping me company.
I am sure it was not a dream as I was dreaming something totally different (I remember the dream) and she wasn’t in the dream. She was more like casually sitting up in the bed next to me and looking like her usual self I remember before she passed away. This didn’t scare me but made me feel like she was next to me saying look I am still here.

what is my AIBU?

AIBU - I imagined this and deceased relatives don’t come back to see us
AINBU - there’s still some conscience of deceased ones floating around and I just happened to capture some

I am puzzled tbh as it’s never happened to me. Maybe I am experiencing delirium 😜 but I am not that sick anymore just very very fatigued.

and since I am in bed not well… I would love to hear your spooky stories if you have any.

My youngest is now middle teens and has been able to see spirits since she was a toddler. She was totally spooked first time she saw a gentleman in our garden , we have a very old house but now it doesn't bother her .The one I find the most you cannot explain away and I forgot to mention previously

We were going to get some stuff for cookery lesson at school, and we drove past an area someone had been killed tragically a few years back and they were only young .As we went past she what , why is that person stood there in the dark looking out at the the road but now they have gone .She described the person. No way she would have know the accident was before she was born. I showed her a picture of a few different people , one the person that had died and a few random off the Internet, similar age .She went immediately to the person that had dies and said that is them .This was a couple of years ago and she knows what she saw .

@Pinkyandthebrain96 that sounds like your child is naturally gifted. Probably some people are born more attuned to these kind of things.

Reminds of the show Hollywood Medium where the medium is very young but just so gifted that it’s hard not to believe it is all real

I had something similar happen to me years ago after my friend Ali died of cancer and she was very young. Ali had introduced me to her friend Bella who is now a dear friend of mine too.i was meeting this mutual friend Bella for coffee straight after Ali’s funeral to talk about Ali when my phone rung. Oh well it showed my late friend Ali’s cell number was calling me!
Bella and I both froze and i answered the call. It was my Ali’s husband / widow calling me using Ali’s phone as he didn’t have my number and he found it on Ali’s phone. He was calling to ask me to pick up the kids from school as he was stuck in traffic.

NOW… he has never called me before or after. He usually emails about news on the kids or other things. And to call me using Ali’s cell number when I was with our mutual friend Bella was quite the coincidence for me. It was like Ali was saying … hey ladies … I am here too!!
