celebrities saying they need a holiday

So just been watching Jeff and Bobby Brazier on loose women. Normally like them, still do, but they were asked what their Christmas looks like. To which Jeff replied, sunshine, after all the stress of strictly we need a holiday. Well woopy do for him. Does he really need a holiday? I can think of many more deserving and harder working people, none of then celebrities.

He was asked a question and he answered. Can nobody do anything for fear of upsetting those with less?

Holidays aren’t distributed through “deserving”, they’re a product that some people can afford more easily than others.

Being bitter because someone else can afford a holiday when you can’t isn’t healthy.

Who can you think of who deserves a holiday more then them, your aunt shiela? Is it a competition of who deserves a holiday more??
How do you know fully their daily routine and theirs and families general health to be able to state that?

What would you have preferred him to say? 'We will spend it reflecting on our immense privilege having been doing nothing meaningful apart from dancing about a bit for a few months so that others don't feel irritated?'

They answered a basic question, and yes some people feel they need a holiday.

Bloody hell. The lad's been working, his job is to entertain people. I sit quietly at a desk for 35 hours a week, I'm not exerting huge amounts of energy in front of an audience of millions, but I still feel like I deserve a break from it over Christmas.

Who do you think IS deserving of a holiday?!

Many years ago I worked in a bank, this was in the days when you needed to speak to a person to get a bank loan. I received many requests for holidays, they were always described as "much needed holidays" no-one ever said they just fancied a break, all I was concerned with was could they afford to repay the loan but they obviously thought that phrase might help.

You can go on holiday regardless of how deserving you are.

He’s had a busy year and is lucky to afford a break. I hope that he has a good time.

I don’t understand your anger.

Bobby has just been in Strictly which has a gruelling schedule and I imagine he is exhausted. Not sure what Jeff does but no doubt he’s been working hard also.

Just because you’re in the public eye, doesn’t mean you're not tired.

Hes not saying that other people didn’t deserve holidays , but he would like a holiday.

Everyone in this country is entitled to a holiday. Some people can afford to jet off somewhere, some spend it at home but everyone is entitled to it.
Judging by your post, I suppose you presume that celebrities work one hour a day for the duration of the show. The reality is that they have to keep a very busy schedules with multiple meetings, media engagements, multi-hour pre and post production as well as rehearsals. It is not uncommon for actors to sit 10+ hours for make up which may sound like a relaxing experience to you but I would encourage you to try and sit still for 10 minutes to see what it may really be like.
Many celebrities have to miss out on time with family and friends due to production demands etc.
Is it better than working as an ambulance driver or a miner? I am sure it is but just because you see someone looking fancy on screen for one hour a week, doesn't mean they don't work the rest of the time. I listened to a radio interview on BBC2 about Jack and the Bean stalk pantomime and they are doing two to three shows a day with only one day off on Christmas day. I bloody well think they would want a holiday by the end of it.

Meh, there are thousands of people heading off on holiday this weekend. Indeed we are on the 4th Jan, it’s only Lanzarote but hey 7 nights in 73 degrees will suit me.

Even celebrities can work hard and feel like they need a holiday you know. Strictly is their work. I imagine there's a lot of rehearsal time involved with it. I know they are paid very well for it but I don't see why he can't feel ready for a break too?

Being a celeb—as with being a working royal—is utterly exhausting. I find keeping an interested smile and outgoing attitude in place even for half an hour draining. Not to mention the amount of prep you have to do. The idea of entertaining ppl for a living—well I feel knackered just thinking about it.

You do know Jeff Brazier's holiday isn't somehow stopping anyone else from having one, don't you? It's a holiday, not a medal. They're not handed out as rewards for good behaviour.

I am not speaking from personal experience, just observation! (Am not a celeb or a royal though had a brief few days of ‘fame’ when a cause I was promoting made national news and I hated every minute of it, it was tiring and weird.)

Like any big work project - a holiday and unwind, if you can afford it, is great.
