I’m on a plane right now (delayed 🫣) and the person across the aisle is my brother…

the person behind is doing this…. Would this bother you? Maybe it’s the delay but for some reason it’s making me really angry 😅

VanityDiesHard · 08/12/2023 10:05

Why? They are just stretching their legs, not impeding your brother in any way. I think the stress of the flight being delayed is getting to you.

electriclight · 08/12/2023 10:07

No that wouldn't bother me.

If his foot was in my space or touching my belongings, it would.

If he had his shoes off it would.

But the guy is tall and stretching his leg into the aisle without obstructing it.

Maybe it is bothering you because when you talk to your brother, this guy's leg is between you?

DustyLee123 · 08/12/2023 10:07

No, wouldn’t bother me unless they were within my space

HennyPenny123 · 08/12/2023 10:08

It wouldn't bother me, i have to do this on planes sometimes as sitting for a while really bothers my knee and I have to stretch it out. I move it if air hostess is trying to get by etc

Drlate · 08/12/2023 10:08

Honestly don’t care. He might be tall so needs to stretch, we all know how shit leg room is in economy.

FannyFifer · 08/12/2023 10:08

I would find it a wee bit annoying but accept that he isn't doing anything wrong.,

Legomania · 08/12/2023 10:09

It would annoy me, but I'd also recognise that a lot of people, particularly men, are much more cramped in their seats than I am

RampantIvy · 08/12/2023 10:09

DH is 6ft 2 with most of his height in his legs, and plane seat pitch depth is never big enough for him. If he couldn't get an extra legroom seat he would probably do that as well.

No, it wouldn't bother me.

Marblessolveeverything · 08/12/2023 10:09

Why would it bother you? They are not impeding on anyone's assigned space?

lesdeluges · 08/12/2023 10:10

Your brother doesn't seem bothered!

It is the delay. Boredom and frustration are making you narky. Where you going, at least give US something to muse on 😂

houseofstark · 08/12/2023 10:10

Yes it would bother me too!

PossumintheHouse · 08/12/2023 10:12

He’s tall and stretching his legs. I might be a bit annoyed if I was an air hostess wrestling a trolley, but apart from that it’s totally harmless.

Catsmere · 08/12/2023 10:12

I wouldn’t like it, but better that than him jamming his knees into the back of my seat.

fetchacloth · 08/12/2023 10:13

No it wouldn't bother me one bit. Anyone with knee or hip issues need to do this. Maybe if you had arthritis you would understand.

GreyhpundGirl · 08/12/2023 10:15

He's not interfering or bothering your brother so there's no issue. I'm tall so often do this so as it can be very uncomfortable with little to no leg room.

TomeTome · 08/12/2023 10:17

No of course it wouldn't he can use the space as he pleases why does it bother you?

MarjorieTheManager · 08/12/2023 10:20

If the guys leg was over the back of the chair on my shoulder, then yeh, that would bother me. Where it is in this photo, I’m not interested.

divinededacende · 08/12/2023 10:22

Nah, I'm 6ft so above average but not huge for a guy and sometimes you just need to find a way to stretch and be comfortable on a plane - or any transport really.

I'm always really conscious of not manspreading when I'm sitting with people I don't know so the subtle gymnastics needed to stay comfortable can be ridiculous depending on where I'm sitting.

As long as he's responsive when someone needs to get up or get past and he's not touching anyone, it's cool.

DinoDays · 08/12/2023 10:23

As I get older I get annoyed at most things in life but this wouldn't bother me one bit.

Aprilx · 08/12/2023 10:24

Another no. He is stretching his leg into the aisle and it is not impacting ythe ur brother in any way.

ManateeFair · 08/12/2023 10:25

I certainly wouldn't say anything but yes, I would be secretly enraged. I mean, I know they're entitled to stretch their legs, so it would be very much my problem and not theirs, but I'd hate it. I'm really weird about anything I perceive as encroachment on my space. Even though that's not really 'my' space as such. I do know this is my issue and not other people's but I would be silently seething if I were seated where your brother is.

CavalierApproach · 08/12/2023 10:25

This wouldn’t bother me. It’s not like manspreading, imo.

I’m not tall but I have knee issues and experience pain on long car journeys when I can’t extend my legs. That’s an issue for a lot of people. And for people who are even moderately tall it can be awfully cramped in a plane seat.

tootsierubs · 08/12/2023 10:27

He'll soon move it when they go past with the trolley!

StarlightLady · 08/12/2023 11:08

It would bother me if l was a member of cabin crew and trying to push a trolly down the aisle.

l’m little, but l do feel for people with long legs in an aircraft seat.

Nevermind31 · 08/12/2023 11:18

No, unless they took their shoes off, where touching me or my belongings, or resting it on my seat.
