Is that sacrilege?

That's all.

Sounds incredible.

Heyhoherewegoagain · 19/11/2023 18:09

Sounds lovely!

Unex · 19/11/2023 18:11

Excellent idea

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 19/11/2023 18:12

Are you Stifler's Mom?!

Elvis1956 · 19/11/2023 18:13

One word. Yes.

GrumpyPanda · 19/11/2023 18:33

Desperate situation?

ollypollymolly · 19/11/2023 18:33

yes !

TLDRfuckers · 19/11/2023 18:34

Was it Irish?

coffeestrongblacknosugar · 19/11/2023 18:35

yes, sacrilege to the hot chocolate and for the lovely malt.

Dartmoorcheffy · 19/11/2023 18:35

Don't blame you. It's lovely like that.

BaronessBomburst · 19/11/2023 18:36

Yabu. Dark rum is much nicer.

TrishTrix · 19/11/2023 18:37

It wouldn't have been my pick - single malt is for drinking straight up and cooking whisky (famous grouse etc.) is for mixers and food.

Only exception is cocktails when i do think a decent spirit stands out.

Nellieinthebarn · 19/11/2023 18:37

Its fine, it's only whisky at the end of the day. I once used a similar precious single malt in a hot toddy when I had a cold. ExH went apeshit, and the fucks I couldn't give were more or less infinite.

Gowlett · 19/11/2023 18:38

No. Same for people who use Champagne to make Bucks Fizz. And Baileys in hot chocolate (it’s actually horrible!)

ChannelyourinnerElsa · 19/11/2023 18:38

TLDRfuckers · 19/11/2023 18:34

Was it Irish?

It must have been if it was whiskEy?!

maybe American I suppose, but that wouldn’t be remotely sacrilegious.

moggerhanger · 19/11/2023 18:39

I have no time for whisky snobs getting precious about not even putting so much as a dribble of water in. So YANBU IMO. I personally wouldn't, but only because rum or Polish cherry or hazelnut vodka is so much nicer.

tescocreditcard · 19/11/2023 18:39

Gosh - you must be really rich.

GoodOldEmmaNess · 19/11/2023 18:39

Chocolate is sacred, but if adding whiskey floats your boat, then you mght as well add the best.

Loopytiles · 19/11/2023 18:40

Only bad if it was a peaty whiskey, that wouldn’t taste nice!

never had alcoholic hot chocolate: must change that!

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 19/11/2023 18:40

I'd have to tip the hot chocolate away if it was me - whiskey just tastes like smoke and old aftershave.

So if you like it, you can have my share for the hot chocolate and keep your share for drinking 'properly'? Wink

Blanketpolicy · 19/11/2023 18:41

You enjoy it, it takes away the out of date stuffy idea there is only one way to drink a malt and it increases sales. Win-win for everyone.

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 19/11/2023 18:41

but only because rum or Polish cherry or hazelnut vodka is so much nicer.

I require more information on this, please. As a matter of urgency. Thank you.

GoodOldEmmaNess · 19/11/2023 18:44

lolol "smoke and old aftershave", @GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut . That's pretty much why I don't drink whiskey but, equally, I can see some artisanal distillers adding that to their wanky tasting notes.

PuttingDownRoots · 19/11/2023 18:44

As long as it wasn't someone else's special bottle... why not? Neat or in hot chocolate its still drunk.

NurseButtercup · 19/11/2023 18:45

I've never tried it but I'm definitely curious and open to it.

Also - have you tried Coole Swan???
"it's a tasty cream liqueur made with single malt Irish whiskey, Belgian white chocolate and fresh cream."

im going to treat my family to a bottle for Xmas
