Is that sacrilege?

That's all.

petermaddog · 19/11/2023 19:46

grey goose is tasty too

muddyford · 19/11/2023 19:47

Definitely sacrilege. Try Baileys.

bananablues · 19/11/2023 19:48

yes, absolutely, unless it was an American brand.

OhNoForever · 19/11/2023 19:48

Could have just had both! If I was rich tho I would absolutely.

Pollywoddles · 19/11/2023 19:52

This is why I keep two bottles of standard whiskey in the press at all times. I save the good stuff to enjoy neat.

LakieLady · 19/11/2023 19:53

I think it sounds rather nice.

I have plenty of whisky, but no drinking chocolate, so can't try it. Do you think it would work with Ovaltine instead?

Neriah · 19/11/2023 19:57

Assuming it's whisky, no definitely not sacrilege. That would be far too mild. A hanging, drawing and quartering offence. Unless its Welsh whiskey, in which case go for it.

Melroses · 19/11/2023 21:50

Shame to leave it lying around - about time it was used up 👍

Multipleexclamationmarks · 19/11/2023 21:54

Yes, you've committed a sin, I feel a bit anxious thinking about it.

Next time use Bailey's, or Jamesons.

Its fine, it's only whisky at the end of the day. I once used a similar precious single malt in a hot toddy when I had a cold. ExH went apeshit, and the fucks I couldn't give were more or less infinite.

I had an ex who used to moan on about how mixing whiskey and coke was terrible coz he was a snob. We were 21 the pretentious cunt, we drank everything that wasn’t nailed down! I think of him and laugh now.

Errolwasahero · 19/11/2023 22:16

I haven’t found anything yet that can’t be improved by the addition of a slug of whisky, or whiskey, whatever the age.
Life is too short; do whatever you want with it!

@moggerhanger

I have no time for whisky snobs getting precious about not even putting so much as a dribble of water in.

Proper whisky snobs would insist you put in a dribble of water! (The molecules are hydrophobic, you can taste and smell a lot more when you add a few drops of water.)

Ice cubes, though, you must NEVER put in ice cubes. On the rocks is Not Allowed 😉

Indeed, and that's how I drink mine, but I have had braying chaps in salmon-coloured trousers chastise me for doing so. Made me want to add a splash of lemonade, just to spite them.

but only because rum or Polish cherry or hazelnut vodka is so much nicer.

I require more information on this, please. As a matter of urgency. Thank you.

As @Badknitter has already said, Soplica brand works beautifully. (You can also mix the cherry one with amaretto plus ice to make a Cherry Bakewell cocktail.)

Whowhatwherewhenwhy1 · 19/11/2023 22:43

Its for enjoying so I say have it whatever way you enjoy it. Better that than sitting gathering dust on a shelf

My local Tescos had Polish cherry and hazelnut vodka's in down the Polish section. Then they got bloody got rid of it. Morons.

It depends. If it was Jack Daniels then YBVVVVU. If it was Islay Malt then sounds like a lovely evening.

ClareBlue · 19/11/2023 23:18

Your husband might have a point if it was that bottle that sold for 2.1 million yesterday.

Cami65 · 19/11/2023 23:28

Skip past the whiskey and go for Tia Maria in hot chocolate next time, it's amazing 👌

Was it Irish?

Must have been.

dadsLightAnthem · 19/11/2023 23:32

You're a monster. Lots of love

Jitterybugs · 20/11/2023 00:07

You put me in the mood for trying it before bed tonight. Then realised I’d given the grandchildren the last of my hot chocolate this afternoon. So I’ve had a double Jameson’s and a Mars bar. It was lovely but I need a double shot of Gaviscon now before bed.

TootiiFrootii · 20/11/2023 00:19

What was the hot chocolate? Bog standard powder or the delicious Belgian/ Swiss chocolate flake kind? Powder might need the kick from the alcohol. Anything other than a finish of cream on the flakes is very wrong.

Errolwasahero · 21/11/2023 08:20

Another vote for ice in the whisky. Just a wee bit.
not when you put it in the hot chocolate, obv.
