AIBU to mention DH bum crack while he’s cooking.

It’s great he’s cooking, but he’s taken to wading his jeans very low so there is a massive amount of bulbous hairy flesh on show. I can’t believe it’s great for DS15 to see either.
I asked him to pull his trousers up so he turns it onto me, says he has to look at me being gross, and before we know it hes got super angry and we are in a row. Then he says,‘it’s Friday night and I’m going to ask you to literally stop talking’ so I make to leave and he says ‘so I’ve got to cook all the dinner on my own then?’
I said I need a moment to calm down and came in here to grumble to you guys.
AIBU to ask him to wear his trousers properly?
Grrrr!

He sounds like a right grotty grimster. Sprinkle some raisins down there.

Molly0 · 17/11/2023 19:53

an ice cube?

merrymelodies · 17/11/2023 19:56

Gordon Ramsay would have his guts for garters.

HeadacheEarthquake · 17/11/2023 19:57

Get DS 15 to hit the bare buttflesh with a wet teatowel til he stops? Bribery is an option if he's unwilling.

Friendfoe1 · 17/11/2023 19:58

It wouldn’t really bother me, but if it bothers you then it’s not unreasonable of you to mention it to him.

CandyLeBonBon · 17/11/2023 20:00

Well you all sound fun!

reallyworriedjobhunter · 17/11/2023 20:01

A good big pinch of chilli powder?

Bobsledgirl · 17/11/2023 20:03

Probably not unreasonable but he’s over reacted. Maybe he was embarrassed ?

OldTinHat · 17/11/2023 20:07

Maybe pop a teaspoon of glitter down there? At least it would look pretty!

Imtootiredtothinkofausername · 17/11/2023 20:08

Just wondering how different the responses might be if a man tried telling a woman how to dress in her own home 🤔 or referred to any part of her body as "bulbous hairy flesh".

Whilst it wouldn't be particularly appealing to me l, and I think it's fine to politely voice your thoughts on the matter, you cannot tell another adult how to dress in their own home 🤷

Aquamarine1029 · 17/11/2023 20:11

The op shouldn't have to tell her slob of a husband to cover his hairy arse crack around their daughter, but since he doesn't have enough sense and decency to, needs must.

Daphnis156 · 17/11/2023 20:14

He thought it was a turn for you.

RisingSunn · 17/11/2023 20:14

See things like this don’t have to become “issues”. If it was me I would have playfully yanked DH trousers up from behind or something similar…

Doesn't have to be a big deal.

HeadacheEarthquake · 17/11/2023 20:15

Glitter spray!

Daughter? Where?

I don’t know whether it would bother me or not. I don’t think so.

fetchacloth · 17/11/2023 20:19

Ugh. Nothing like a bit of bike rack with your dinner. 😔
I think he needs to wear better trousers.

SwingTheMonkey · 17/11/2023 20:22

Why are you worried about your 15 year old seeing a normal human body?

I hope you’d be receptive to being told you were grossing your husband out by having flesh on show…

Sorry, son. Daughter, son, doesn't matter. I can't imagine any teen being happy to see their parents arse crack.

RichardsGear · 17/11/2023 20:26

Being nosey, but what does he mean about having to look at you being gross?

SeulementUneFois · 17/11/2023 20:26

Ok it may be that the bigger problem was him referring to seeing you being gross.
Did he mean a specific instance?
Or you being gross in general??

SwingTheMonkey · 17/11/2023 20:27

What a fucking sexist load of bullshit. If someone had posted about their Dh telling them to cover their gross flesh whilst cooking a family meal, they’d be told their Dh could cook their own food and how dare he body shame you and tell you to cover up…

RichardsGear · 17/11/2023 20:27

I guess everyone could just do other things, and leave him in the kitchen airing his arse crack unobserved?

Agreed. You have hurt his feelings and men often respond with anger when what they really feel is hurt. ( actually so do lots of women but that’s another topic). It was a bit unkind . There he is doing something perfectly wholesome with his evening ( he could have been down at the pub while you cook) and you insult him for how he looks in his own home. I’d go say sorry personally.

Exactly.
