Dd, 5, adores The Grinch, I’ve seen a Grinch Pj set for Dh, me, Dd and the dog 🤷🏻‍♀️😂She’d love it, we’d be cheesy but cosy…total cost is €57…! I mean
Do you do xmas pjs?

FestiveSandman · 13/11/2023 11:28

Yup! We love it 😊 We all get a new matching pair every year.

Forsakenalmosthuman · 13/11/2023 11:28

My husband and dog would object strenuously.

Children are fickle.

It'll probably end up just being you wearing then, OP.😆

Chlorinara · 13/11/2023 11:33

It's behind closed doors, who cares what anyone else thinks?

We don't do it, DH would hate it, but my son and daughter loved having matching PJs when they were little. I bet DD would love to match with you. Whether you need to involve DH and DDog is down to you.

Stickytreacle · 13/11/2023 11:34

It's a no from me, and most dogs hate being dressed up unless a sighthound type that needs warmth, so to make a pet miserable for entertainment would be an even bigger no.

SgtJuneAckland · 13/11/2023 11:36

We did it last year, got them out at the start of December when the tree went up, bought DS' big so they'll do for this year too. Absolutely no photographic evidence though!

SgtJuneAckland · 13/11/2023 11:37

@Scalottia I don't even have Instagram! There are absolutely no photos of us in our Christmas pyjamas, it's just something we do for December, DS likes it.

Desecratedcoconut · 13/11/2023 11:39

I'm usually all in for any amount of gaudy shit you can crowbar in to Christmas but it's a step too far for me. But, it's up to you.

TokyoSushi · 13/11/2023 11:39

Gosh no, the Dad in particular always looks ridiculous.

But if it makes you happy...

poorlypoppet · 13/11/2023 11:39

Its a no from us!

DH doesn't wear PJs ever and so would look utterly ridiculous in xmas PJs all matchy-matchy with us. I also just find the whole thing a bit tacky and overdone - but each to their own, and I understand there are families that love doing it and its become a real part of their xmas traditions.

I also can't get on board with the Xmas Eve box, elf on the shelf etc. All this extra stuff seems to be born from social media and feels very forced (and bloody expensive!). Maybe we're just a bit bah humbug!

Toddlerteaplease · 13/11/2023 11:43

If it's the Primark stuff. You'll need sunglasses.

Inthetropics · 13/11/2023 11:46

Not unreasonable if you buy them early and wear them throughout the winter season. Life is short, childhood is short so you might as well enjoy family Xmas pjs if you like the idea! 🎅

justaboutdonenow · 13/11/2023 11:58

Nope, it's something that doesn't appeal at all.

I don't see the harm in doing it if everyone in the family really wants to, but it's a bit naff & smacks of unnecessary consumerism & trend following, not to mention the planet when lots of people may only wear them once.

Downgetgetdowngetgetdowngetgetdown · 13/11/2023 14:13

@JudgeJ Christ 😂

OP posts:
ElaineMBenes · 13/11/2023 14:19

We're already wearing ours!
But it is just for us and is something we like to do. Me and DH are still wearing one's we bought years ago as winter PJs.
I

Chanhedforthis · 13/11/2023 14:22

I do it just for the kids, adults just look tacky imo and i begrudge the cost

girlfriend44 · 13/11/2023 14:23

No another stupid thing introduced to make the shops money.

ElaineMBenes · 13/11/2023 14:24

No another stupid thing introduced to make the shops money.

That's kind of the point of shops.........

Beargrumps22 · 13/11/2023 14:31

would love to see the dog in a pair of pjs!

MammaTo · 13/11/2023 14:47

We’ve always got new pj’s on Christmas Eve and now we’ve got the baby we do matching. If you want to do it who cares what other people think, it’s your house and your memories of Christmas that you’re making.

Georgeandzippyzoo · 13/11/2023 15:28

I think gets xmas pjs is fine, but getting whole family, matching sets is just a really weird thing to do! Not at all cute, just weird!

Downgetgetdowngetgetdowngetgetdown · 13/11/2023 15:33

@Georgeandzippyzoo 😂Why though?

OP posts:
Birdcar · 13/11/2023 15:34

So long as they don't end up in landfill I don't see anything wrong with it.

gotomomo · 13/11/2023 15:38

No we don't, look so stupid on adults, especially the thin printed ones (thick tartan is ok but not matching

Downgetgetdowngetgetdowngetgetdown · 13/11/2023 16:20

@gotomomo Okay.

OP posts:
Rewis · 13/11/2023 16:23

Not my thing buy why not. It's harmless, won't hurt anyone and as long as you weather them move than Once then it's not even wasteful. Go for it.
