Dd, 5, adores The Grinch, I’ve seen a Grinch Pj set for Dh, me, Dd and the dog 🤷🏻‍♀️😂She’d love it, we’d be cheesy but cosy…total cost is €57…! I mean
Do you do xmas pjs?

We don’t do them. I’m sure my family would all be extremely eye rolly, but with a LO and willing DP and dog, you should!

AngryBird6122 · 12/11/2023 22:47

As long as you will wear them out then it’s fine. Don’t wear them once then get rid, that would be bad.

dovelynn · 12/11/2023 22:48

Did them one year and it was all so forced and embarrassing. My 6ft 6 DH looked particularly ridiculous. I get the kids Christmas jammies but that's it. And they get passed down too.

namestuck · 12/11/2023 22:48

Yay here! DCs love it, and I do too Grin

BlazingWorld · 12/11/2023 22:49

No, not our thing at all. But don’t pay attention to anyone else, if you want to do it!

Devilsmommy · 12/11/2023 22:49

I so wish I could get my husband to to wear some, might still do me and DS though😁

Downgetgetdowngetgetdowngetgetdown · 12/11/2023 22:51

@AngryBird6122 Wear them out..? I wouldn’t be wearing them out anywhere 😅

LittlestG · 12/11/2023 22:51

We did it for our first Christmas with our little one, that being said, they weren't particularly Christmassy, they were just nice plaid pj's. I'm preggers this year though so no matching pj's for us as I can't get my fat Christmas pud tummy into any of the matching sets! 🤣

Downgetgetdowngetgetdowngetgetdown · 12/11/2023 22:51

@Devilsmommy I haven’t actually asked him yet…I’m thinking if we all do, how can he be the boring one and not participate 😂

idontlikealdi · 12/11/2023 22:51

We did last year, didn't get dressed all day at the kids' request. Wore them as normal pjs through winter. Just sold as a bundle on Vinted. Will do the same this year. Not really my thing but the kids love it.

MarleyandMarleyWoo · 12/11/2023 22:52

Not exactly family matchy matchy photos for the ‘gram no, but I have bought DS and I some cute brushed cotton traditional tartan jammies from the same range this year. He’s only two so can’t complain at being forced to match his mother yet!

TheNoodlesIncident · 12/11/2023 22:52

Your child will grow out of her pair while you, your dog and your DH can still wear yours. Will she mind? Would you still wear yours at Christmas if DD doesn't have matching ones?

I'm all for Christmas pyjamas personally, but matching ones are awkward when some family members have a lot of growing to do. I'd get her the Grinch ones for sure, and maybe the dog, but I'd get different fun ones for you and DH.

Ultimately though, you can do as you please! You'll get the use out of them either way.

AngryBird6122 · 12/11/2023 22:52

@Downgetgetdowngetgetdowngetgetdown sorry I meant wear them through like you would normal pjs!

Downgetgetdowngetgetdowngetgetdown · 12/11/2023 22:53

@idontlikealdi We’d definitely get wear out of them as I’d likely get them this week (just because we also need winter pjs) and we’d wear them all winter (well Dd and I def would)

Devilsmommy · 12/11/2023 22:55

@Downgetgetdowngetgetdowngetgetdown 😆 I'm thinking I should maybe just get him some, hide all of his other sleep wear and then casually leave his on the bed and give him a look that says all I need him to hear " put them on now"😁🤭

sparepantsandtoothbrush · 12/11/2023 22:56

DS and DH don't like them but DD and I always get matching ones. In fact we're both wearing last years ones tonight. DD is almost 17 and has requested them again this year 😁 I may get them for the dog too this time!

Sagedragon · 12/11/2023 22:58

We all get a new pair of pyjamas on Christmas Eve, but couldn't do all matching 😬

CurlyhairedAssassin · 12/11/2023 23:10

I don't usually go in for social media or marketing trends so no, I wouldn't do this. I did used to buy the kids new winter fleecy pyjamas for a few years and take the obligatory photos by the tree of the excited kiddes on Chrismtas Eve with the plate for Father Christmas and the carrot for Rudolph. But they weren't Christmas ones, just some nice fleecy tartan ones or something.

And let's be honest, they'd all end up going in the wash at different times anyway. One's nappy would leak, another would get breakfast down the front, a parent's may last a day or two longer before needs washing and then you're all out of synch. So I just think all those social media photos of everyone wearing matching PJs must be a bit staged really.

dumpkin · 12/11/2023 23:12

Not my kind of thing but you do you.

DoktorPeppa · 12/11/2023 23:12

Good god no. Forced, contrived jollity

margegunderson · 12/11/2023 23:13

Christ no

Womencanlift · 12/11/2023 23:26

Completely cringey, especially getting a dog involved. Fair enough you and the family will get wear out of them but the dog won’t so complete waste of money, especially if doing it for social media likes like some do

DramaAlpaca · 12/11/2023 23:36

God no. Not our thing at all.

yellowsmileyface · 13/11/2023 08:06

Do it!! This sounds adorable and sounds like it will make your DD happy.

PhilippaPage · 13/11/2023 08:08

Over my dead body.
