People too lazy to go to top of bus

Finlesswonder · 19/10/2023 11:45

Before you say "oh maybe they have an invisible disability" - I seriously doubt that the bus is full of these twice a day, every day, which is how often I take the bus.

I get on at the terminus so it's empty. Without fail people would rather cram themselves onto the bottom or sometimes even stand than go through the trauma of hauling their asses up to the upper deck.

How bloody lazy are people, it drives me crazy! One girl actually preferred to take the back seat and sit there mouth breathing and facing three of us rather than take 8 steps

are you on the top deck?

Backtoreality1 · 19/10/2023 11:46

Why don't you go upstairs and have all that lovely space to yourself....what makes you so special??

You go upstairs.. Or let me guess you have the invisible disability

JohnThorntonsOverbearingMother · 19/10/2023 11:47

Thoughts and prayers, OP.

Maybe lead by example next time.

Finlesswonder · 19/10/2023 11:49

I am considering going to top deck even though the bus is empty when I get on just so I don't have to see it

Seeline · 19/10/2023 11:50

I haven't got a disability (apart from dodgy knees) but I do have appalling balance and those stairs to the top deck are huge. I struggle to get up but worse still is the journey down on a moving bus. Last time I tried I had to go backwards. If you're not down in time our drivers tend to just move off as well.

INeedAnotherName · 19/10/2023 11:50

Perhaps the mouth breather was getting over covid and didn't have the lung function to climb the stairs.

Poor you, having to witness all this.

TiredMamOfTwo · 19/10/2023 11:51

Why don't you climb the stairs to avoid the mouth breathers? Are you also lazy?

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 19/10/2023 11:52

Unless you're really nimble and not bag-laden and can safely get yourself up and down the bus stairs whilst it's moving then you're taking risks.

Did you just start the thread to moan about lazy people when you're exactly one of those who needs to get on the bus and take your own lazy arse upstairs?

I go to the top regardless of how busy the bus is because there might be people coming on after me that need a seat on the bottom. Perhaps take that tact op.

bingoitsadingo · 19/10/2023 11:53

YABU. You’re complaining that someone sits in an available seat that happens to be facing you? Get a grip.

I often don’t go up to the top deck if I’m not going far, especially if the bus is going to fill up because it can be tricky to get out again. If you’re getting on the bus when it’s empty and going a decent distance it makes much more sense for you to go
upstairs!

SisterMichaelsHabit · 19/10/2023 11:53

You again

Gnomegnomegnome · 19/10/2023 11:54

Unless you are sat up top then you really can’t judge.

Mama822 · 19/10/2023 11:54

I haven’t gotten the bus for a while but I always went up top! Best seats were up top at the front lol great views :)

What a rude tone! Plenty of people mouth breathe because they can't breathe through their nose. You sound like you hate the world. Charming!

Topofthemountain · 19/10/2023 11:55

Historically you could smoke upstairs, therefore I would always sit downstairs as a child.

Habits are sometimes hard to break.

Sounds like a good idea. You can then detach yourself from all the people you despise.

GCAcademic · 19/10/2023 11:56

Life must be exhausting for you if this is what gets you worked up.

Catsmere · 19/10/2023 11:57

Lead by example, OP, go on!

LubaLuca · 19/10/2023 11:57

This is something I haven't thought about for years because I live somewhere with no public transport, but when I lived in a city I used to hate having to get down those steep steps on a moving bus. I've seen so many people slip and fall, so I would avoid going upstairs if I could.

brandonflowersmushtash · 19/10/2023 11:57

Get a grip.

Thesearmsofmine · 19/10/2023 11:58

I hate sitting in the top deck so only go up occasionally when my kids nag me enough.
