To think Starmer seriously needs a better haircut

The current hair is just awful, a weird 50s throwback style. Why isn't the Labour party hiring people to style him to look (and sound) professional for leadership? It's not enough these days just to be yourself and jog along. It's serious.

No I wasn’t. But I’ll rephrase for you:

The authentic voice of the left.

Better?

The authentic voice of the Tories.

Call you a liar, pretend they didn't, retroactively rephrase something to win an argument just so they don't have to apologise.

You couldn't make it up.

DiaryLouise · 12/10/2023 15:02

I think they’re trying incredibly hard with Starmer’s hair but he just has weird hair that grows straight up.

There is a very active IG account dedicated to this very topic - ratingstarmershair

All those saying his hairstyle doesn't matter but berating Boris for his 🧐

That's the point. I'd say that if you pick on someone's appearance then it's fair game. Do that and accept others will. There are jokes aplenty about the lifts in Sunak's shoes. But it is what someone does that matters

Yup.

NotQuiteHere · 12/10/2023 15:04

The policies are one thing but I would like to know more about the personality of this man because if he is elected, he will make a lot of important decisions, and only a fraction of those decisions will be related to the policies.

When I see his unnaturally styled hair, I think that this man has to spend some time, probably quite a few times a day, doing his hair. And I don't like that.

Oh my word.

You want an apology for (the imagined) insult of being thought a Labour voter?

Goldenbear · 12/10/2023 15:07

He definitely looks 61, I think he should grow it on the sides a bit as it is a bit top heavy and ditch the brill cream. Do we need suit jackets and ties? Maybe for older voters sense of officialdom but this doesn't reflect office dress codes for example, even corporate law firms.

Goldenbear · 12/10/2023 15:08

Sorry meant he definitely does not look 61 not that 61 is that old.

Hangryhen · 12/10/2023 15:08

He's got a pronounced cows lick to one side of the forehead, so there aren't a lot of ways to cut it that would look smart and professional, which it does. He couldn't have a fringe, or a more central Parting. It could be blow dryed into a different shape but the first hint of moisture it would be back how it is.

Crikeyalmighty · 12/10/2023 15:09

@NotQuiteHere well I must confess people can and do have strange and illogical reasons- I confess I thought negatively of Johnson the minute I saw the inside of his car which was a total state- my thoughts were that if he couldn't keep his car in a reasonable state then his organisational skills must be a bit all over the place.- and so it came to pass

Don't be deliberately dense.

I want an apology for the snotty "sure " when I told you a fact that was inconvenient to your attempted "own".

But from the sound of it it's just too much for you ever to admit you made a mistake. Unsurprising.

KnittedCardi · 12/10/2023 15:15

Slightly off topic, but not really - Do you know we haven't had a bald PM since Winston Churchill. The last one in the US, was Eisenhower. Hair matters.

Hangryhen · 12/10/2023 15:18

I think his barber is going a bit too short on the crown sometimes, which makes it appear to stick in the air, when even a cm longer it would have the weight to fall instead of stick up. Maybe he has a double crown back there as well. That's why he's using lots of product, so he doesn't look like he's had a head hug with a helium balloon.

He looks like a head teacher or an accountant or something, middle class, professionally dressed, a responsible grown up. Hopefully he will be better for the country than this last lot.

WhileMyDishwasherGentlyWeeps · 12/10/2023 15:20

Snotty, maybe. Accusation, no. Aggressive, no.

As for ‘dense’, your reply to me about Michael Foot is the exact opposite of what I’d said.

Taking the piss out of elected officials because of their looks is ok? But not for Labour figures?

Don't put words in my mouth. It's ok for anyone, but the Tories have been in power for most of the last 40 years. So they'll get most of the flak.

DelurkingLawyer · 12/10/2023 15:25

Having seen him at an event once, he’s very trim IRL but also quite sturdily built. That protestor stood no chance of wrestling him to the ground.

His hair is really curly I think. Suspect he’d look like a pedigree sheep if he didn’t blow dry it straight.

Boris Johnson is quite bald

So is Trump.

Because absolutely no -one ever took the piss out of Michael Foot. Never ever. Look. we get it, you're desperate. But painting your party as poor widdle victims doesn't wash.

Nobody ever made comments about Jeremy Corbyn's attire either, oh no.

How did you feel about Boris Johnson and his full time personal hairdresser?

Met a former CPS lawyer who worked with him when he was DPP. Asked what she thought of him and she paused for a long time before replying, “he has magnificent buttocks”

That is sexy hair though isn't it?

You want to run your fingers through it.

It looks like somebody already has to be fair Grin

The only person I know they has actually met him and chatted to him really fancied him! Make of that what you will…
